The size of the room looks bigger in the picture. The room is in actuality smaller and while the bathroom and bedding and towels were clean the room had a bad urine smell. The AC did not work and I didn't feel comfortable opening the window. The croissants provided at breakfast were old and hard. They provided me with 5 or 6 different WiFi codes (one for each floor, as I was instructed) but non of them work at all during my 2 days stay. The staff members were friendly.

Rome was amazing and didn't disappoint, but the hotel wasn't what it had stated! It stated 5 on site restaurants, not true, room by today was extremely basic, not even a kettle for cup of tea or coffee, simplest of pleasures but available at most basic of accomodation nowadays! One or two of the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant during our stay, bit of a walk out of the centre also!!!

Convenient clean B & B walk to Spanish Steps
It is a "regular" hotel for travelers who want to save money by staying in a safe place where they do not intend to spend much time in their room but want the convenience of local transportation & recommended restaurants, in addition to walking proximity to the Spanish Stepsss & Veneto areas and to the subway.

First night had bugs which left us with many painful bites. We moved rooms the next morning, the next room was much better. Still not the cleanest (duvet could use a wash) and we only had one bath towel for the two of us, but otherwise good.

you get what you pay for
The building was a bit old and the air condition takes forever to warm up yes the air condition needs to warm up to cool. Window was missing one of the Blackout curtains and we couldn't close the interior glass window which was fine because some nights we needed open for the breeze there are a lot of places to eat in the area and they are open pretty late . the TV was in Italian we couldn't change. The shower was hot very small but the room was clean they use something when they vacuum so there's a heavy floral scent in the air always which might not be so good if someone has allergies it's close to the bus stop I'm not very far from the train station. only 3 people can be in the elevator and they put 2 full mattresses together which drift apart at night. you can't call the front desk the phone doesn't work. they had breakfast never ate it though.

Center city bed and breakfast
When we first booked this hotel we thought this was a hotel based on pictures and reviews. Once we arrived we noticed this is more of a bed and breakfast type place. The room is small (bed occupies entire room. Small bathroom and 1 small closet is all you get. The "free wifi" is worthless as my cellphone was getting a better internet connection using 3G network. Place has no accommodations. No parking, so be ware if you rent a car you need to pay for parking 1euro per hour from 9:00-23:00 or 8euro for the day. Take a bus or a train if you have a chance (much more convenient in getting around the city). The hotel is within 5 minutes walk to bus stop, 20 min to Trevi fountains or Spanish steps. Lots of restaurants near by. Overall the hotel is average at best but is conveniently located.

IT IS NOT A HOTEL!!!!!!!!!
This is not a hotel!!! It is a bed and breakfast!! WITHOUT THE BREAKFAST BECAUSE THERE IS NOWHERE TO HAVE TO THE BREAKFAST THAT IS NOT PROVIDED!!! This woman's perfume smelling tiny packed room is barely enough for one person. With appliances that do not work you are going to wish you didn't go the cheap route! We were expecting a hotel, because that is what they claim to be but it is not!!! The woman who runs the b&b will not offer her help with bags, not even for a tiny stuffed animal (true story). She is hostile and not welcoming at all!! Her door is always closed and knocking is no help! She is only there for you to check in and check out! God forbid you have a question and catch her when she is supposed to be open to work, she will give you the worst sarcasm filled response ever! AVOID!!!!

Would Not Recommend
I would not stay in this hotel again if I were to go back to Rome for a vacation. Hotel was decent enough for the price and ~9 minute walk from the train station but air conditioner was loud, did not have hot water either day we stayed there. The room isn't bad but looks old and smells of cheap air fresheners. The bed was not comfortable whatsoever. The attendant on duty when we checked out tried to charge me for the two night stay again even though it was paid on the hotels.ca website prior to our trip. Breakfast is only 3 euros each but is the basic Italian breakfast with bread, bread, and more bread. Attendant upon arrival was very helpful with the city map and transportation. Hotel is next to impossible to find and we had to ask three people where it was. It is not located on the street provided by hotels.ca and is part of 2-3 other hotels in the same building. Hotel is located on the other street around the corner from address provided.

5 Nights at Hotel Sallustio
I stayed at Hotel Sallustio for 5 nights. The hotel is in the same building with many other hotels so we had trouble finding it at first. A local noticed we were lost and pointed us to the right place. Our TV was not working the first 2 nights. The toilet in the room had the flushing sound on for about 10-15 minutes after it was flushed. The shower would leak because the door did not close tightly. It was also very loud in the mornings as you can hear people coming and going. The third night we were given the option to change to another room or wait until the new TV arrived the following day. We decided to change rooms. The new room had a working TV but no English channels. The toilet did not make flushing sounds for long and although the shower door did not close tightly, it did not leak as much. It was also much quieter since there was only 2 rooms in that corner compared to 5 rooms before. The location was the best part of this hotel. Not too close to train station but we were able to walk everywhere.

Small and cheap
We booked a room for 13 days mainly due to the location and cheap price. The room was a bit small - only one closet out on the balcony, no drawers or chairs in the room. However, the bed was comfortable. The air-conditioning was a little noisy, but did the job. We ordered a complementary refrigerator that was put in the room the morning after arrival. The refrigerator was small, but worked fine and relatively noise free. The room had a smell that the cleaners covered with perfume. However, it was easy to get rid of the smell by opening the windows in the balcony. Speaking of which, the balcony was very small, in so-so condition with basically no view. The bathroom and shower were ok. The free wifi was sporadic accessible and the wifi coverage was poor in the room. The room included a small flat screen television with 50+ channels of all Italian channels - no English speaking channels were available. The Sallustio hotel is based on the fifth floor in a quiet and charming neighborhood relatively close to most tourist attractions. All in all we were not disappointed with the hotel. Hotel Sallustio is worth a visit.

Friendly Budget Hotel
You are staying in budget hotel so don't expect an immaculate building and lavish furnishing. We made a conscious decision to stay in a cheap hotel and spend that money to actually see Rome. Hotel Sallustio is basic but it does basic very well. If I was to visit Rome on a similar budget, I would definitely stay here again. You can expect clean air conditioned rooms, good breakfast and friendly staff.

Great value for money!
Brilliant! Me and my boyfriend arrived at the begining of July for a 3 night break. As soon as we got there our room was changed to a lovely modern room! NOTHING like the pictures! We were so pleased. Ours was bed and breakfast which was fine. Breakfast was crossiants with fillings, yogurts, toast, cereal so a good selection! Relatively close to all the attractions, right next to a lovely restaurant which we dined in the first night. Overal this definately exceeded our expectaions so we'd definately recommend to anyone! Hotel staff were lovely and friendly, our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels. Tea is provided in the room however you need to get yourself fresh milk and sugar. We had a small fridge in ours so that worked well!

Our first room was not that good but one of the hotel staff his name was Jacob helped us and moved us to the 6th floor, he was very helpful and sweet, so if you have a problem he is the man to call. Over all it's a nice, quit place to stay.

"1 floor hotel" hotel
This is a one floor hotel, in a building where every floor is a different hotel. They take advantage out of any space, not like americans, where we are used to waste huge spaces for no reason. This is why you can find several hotels at the same address .... Not far from Stazione Termini, Porta Pia, Fontana di Trevi, Piazza Navona, Piazza di Soagna, Castel Sant'Angelo, Vaticano, Colosseo, etc. and close to Metro station.

Pleasant hotel in a quiet part of the city
Our welcome was excellent. The manager was well-organised,and had everything ready. He gave us a Rome map on which he marked all the places we wanted to see and explained patiently how we could get there using public transport. The hotel is situated in a pleasant, quiet part of Rome, easily accessible to Reppublica Square and Termini Station. There are a number of good, friendly restaurants nearby. The air-conditioning was much appreciated. Highly recommended

Good for sightseers, not to romantic though
Great location and price for my budget, however, 1st night was rough. Don't get put into room 308. If you can request to go to floor 5 or 6. We were moved, by request, the following day to a bigger better, quieter room on the 6th floor.Breakfast was basic, weirdly the hotel had 2x types of cereal but no bowls. I was guided to use a tea cup. But had yogurts, pastry stuff, tea. I wasn't there for the breakfast anyway. Hotel staff very friendly through out. Again this is a base to go off to see Rome, not a luxury hotel.

Awful Experience. Avoid it!
I travel a lot and have stayed at a wide variety of hotels. When I booked a room at Hotel Sallustio, my expectations were set low - all I needed was a few hours of sleep, a shower, and WI-Fi to sync my email before my early morning flight out of Rome. First of all, this hotel is NOT a 3-star establishment, I would give it a 1-star, maybe. At check-in I was informed that my room was not in the main building because of unspecified issues with some rooms, but my room was a block away in an apartment. Initially, I did not mind that since the main building was awkward and not inviting at all. However, I was soon proven wrong. The apartment had no WI-Fi, the bathroom had a moldy and dirty shower (which I did not use), and the water pipes made loud noise during the entire night making it impossible to sleep. Of course, the room (nor the apartment) had no phone to call the reception. Even for a simple overnight stay, this place is NOT worth it. Avoid it, there are several other options in the area.

Worst bed EVER
We booked this hotel because of the location, and that was the only good thing about it. The person at reception was no help at all (couldn't answer any of our questions), and when we entered the room there was a very foul smell. We had to open the window to air it out. The double bed was actually 2 separate single beds that pulled apart when sleeping. One of us actually fell through the crack while sleeping. We had to move the bed to the wall to stop this, but it didn't even help. Would NOT stay here again.

HOTEL GIOTTO WEBSITE IS MISLEADING..BE CAUTIOUS!
Looking at this hotel on the computer I thought it was really nice but once I arrived I was very disappointed. When I went to my room it was nothing like the pic that was shown on the website. I was excited w/the pic that was shown but "VERY DISAPPOINTED" once going n2 the room. It was a very small room w/only 5 hangars and none in which I could hang my pants so I just kept all my clothes in the suitcase b/c there were no place to put anything (except the 5 hangars). I have traveled around the world a lot and by far this was the worst hotel that I have stayed in. In the breakfast area I over heard a couple of conversations about the disappointment of the hotel and it's rooms. I got in on the conversation and I was glad that I wasn't the only person who thought the website did this place justice but justice didn't do this place well face to face. I watched one of the workers open a few boxes w/a butter knife and after she was finished w/the knife she put it back in the silverware container for someone too use. I was shocked! The breakfast croissants were not really fresh and they also had cereal, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and a pie. Please don't take this the wrong way, if u are a bigger person, then the shower is going to be hard for u. I'm 5'9'',148 and the shower was small and I seem to hit the sliding doors every time I tried to move about. U def wouldn't be'able to fit 2 people in with u.

Great hotel for any budget traveller
A perfect hotel for any budget traveller - only about 10 mins from the bus termina & within walking distance of all the major sights. We'd read Trip Advisor reviews (which were very mixed) but we had 2 rooms for our family of 4 & they were both clean & adequate. When on a city break you don't spend a lot of time in your room but the showers were good, the towels changed & the room cleaned daily & the rooms both had fridges & a safe. The beds & pillows were again typical for budget hotels - rock hard! The breakfast was typically continental - lots of pastries & a great coffee machine. There was noise from other guests (a group of elderly Italians who chose to stay up late in the room next door talking & laughing very loudly!) & dustbin lorries on a couple of occasions, so I was glad we took ear plugs - as one of the reviews had suggested! The cleaners were really friendly & the breakfast & reception staff less so - but we saw very little of them.

Giotto Flavia in Rome - nice hotel, dull district
Nice clean room, excellent breakfast (although the same every day). Polite, English-speaking staff. Nothing interesting around the hotel, need to take a bus to get to any place of interest (bus #62 takes you to almost all must-see sights). On the first day (Saturday) we had trouble finding a place (tobacco shop) where we could buy bus tickets. Noisy restaurant right under our window.

Great space.
The building houses about 5 or 6 different hotels. However, Hotel Giotto Flavia reception is right up front next to the elevator. There was an extremely kind man when we arrived. He gave us a map and was knowledgeable about the entire city. He gave us tips and spoke English very well. Our room was pretty large (we had 4 in our group) and clean. There's a flat screen and a nice bathroom. Room service was always ready to come in the morning. Breakfast was great--a lot of selection with liquids and different breads. The only negative thing was that the air conditioning didn't really work. We never really inquired about it anyway, because we were always on the go. But it would've been nice to have in the evening--so the window wasn't open and we wouldn't have to hear the pigeons at 6 in the morning. Overall, I'd definitely stay at this hotel.
