“Nice if you want to be away from the crowds”

Hotel Hengill has a friendly and helpful manager who will give you suggestions on places to visit and things to do. The hotel is in a remote location (with the exception of the power plant half a mile down the road. There is a smell of sulphur in the air and the hot water also contains the smell. The bedrooms are nicely decorated with comfy beds. The bathrooms could do with some updating. There is a small gym, a sauna and an outdoor hot tub available for guests to use. The restaurant is nice but pricey. Selfoss, the nearest town is half an hours drive away and Reykjavik is 45 minutes away for alternate dining. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay.
