“Will stay here again!”
The Ptarmigan House was the perfect ski-in, walk-50-feet-out condo for us. My husband and I are used to staying in three-, four- and 5-star hotels. If you're looking for 5-star luxury this may not be the place for you. But if you're looking for a well-furnished, well-laid-out room with a fireplace that is cozy, clean and right on the slopes, this place spot on. The concierge services are excellent. The hot tub is well-located, clean and not crowded, even during high season. The shuttle service is amazing, and you're close to lots of restaurants and shops. I loved this condo and we can't wait to come back!
“Wonderful Place”
Ptarmigan House was a great experience and I will go back there again. We had a Studio with a murphy bed which was plenty of room for 2 people. The couch was a pull out so 4 could sleep there. The kitchen was very well equipped with complementary coffee and bottle of wine. Nice view of the gondolas. Staff was wonderful and very helpful. Housekeeping did a great job, they came everyday and always had plenty of towels and soap, shampoos etc. Hot tub was small, room for 4 people, we never had a problem getting into it though. Wireless internet was a disappointment. I could only get connected on 1 day (we were there 4 days) and when I did get connected, it was very slow. The location of the place was the best part. It was about a 100 yard slight hike up before snapping on the skis and ski down to the gondola. When you are done for the day, you can ski right down to the door to take you into the garage where the ski lockers are located. The shuttle service is outstanding. The drivers are very accommodating No one should ever go through the hassle of renting a car. Snowbird restaurant at the Ptramagan Inn was great place for breakfast.
“Ptarmigan House Ski-In/Out Steamboat CO”
Ptarmigan House (condominiums) are comfortable, clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. This was the second year that we stayed at Ptarmigan for our ski week at Steamboat. Most convenient because you ski right to the Gondola and free shuttles take you anywhere you need to go, so no need to rent a car.

“Very Homey and Comfy”
Ptarmigan House is a condo right across a small parking lot from the Ptarmigan Inn, where we rented our ski equipment, had breakfast and then skiied down a small slope to the gondola lift. It is more roomy and comfortable than a hotel room and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our "room" - more like a little suite - had a murphy bed and was ;arge enough so that we left the bed down for the whole time we were there. The sitting area and dining area were roomy enough for 4 people and the kitchen was fully equipped. Maid service was daily. There is a parking garage with a space assigned to each condo. I'd go back every time.

“Nice for the price”
We liked everything about this place except the location of our room. It was on the street and close to other condos so noisy with the windows open. We were also right over the garage where several freshly varnished doors were stored. The fumes coming up into the condo were sickening and the opening and shutting garage door was noisy.
“Our favorite Ski vacation.”
Our sixth annual Colorado ski week, and our third at Ptarmigan House located just up from the Steamboat gondola. Ski-in/out location, great 1-bedroom condo, and free shuttle cannot be beat. No need to rent a car.
“hot, noisy, crowded”
this is not a good place to stay in the summer. no a/c and few outlets to plug in the many fans we found. The carpet was so dirty that my toddler's feet were black by nap time. it is in a crowded and noisy ski village, and the lack of a/c forced us to sleep with the widows open. We did not get much sleep. the pool that is listed in the description is actually located at the hotel across the parking lot and not in the Ptarmigan House. I would not recommend this hotel.
