Okay hotel
the hotel is okay nothing too special- Bed really goo thou! Staff was really nice and helpful - Cleaning in the room was just okay- as a couple we were only given 1 towel! waited more than 30 minutes to get some more! Lovely BBQ dinner at the hotel pool- No shopping at all near the hotel need a taxi to get to the mall-

The building is not well prepare become a hotel yet, the material is easily to be broken, not a nice choice Many fascilitity tend to be diminished caused by the quality of the material Me & my wive only got one soap, sandal, card key, tooth brush, mean while others hospitality should be pair of them The material, start from equipment in the bathroom is already broken, shower, hair dryer, the wall The service, well they avoid to give key card, sandal, etc.... made this hotel worsening Compared other hotels in the same sweet room? Well I don’t think so Please make a better solution !

I also thank you for your feedbacks, however, I could not find your profile in our PMS to enable our tam to fully follow up your feedbacks. For your info that we provide 2 room keys for twin bed, 2 slippers ,two toothbrushes, and two soaps in the room. If our staff failed to complete them in the room, they can be requested at free of charge and our team will be more than happy to provide them. For the room key, as long as there is enough deposit, our Front desk agent will be happily to provide you the additional keys. We do apologize not to be fully able to resolve the situation due to I don’t have your details clearly. Bedsheets were a bit wet (not dried enough), taxis were slow and Location was a bit off via car park and at the back of building. Next door shopping mall all closed due to renovation. Very good customer service and staff

problematic logistically
Local area - The location of the hotel is poor. The area is being redeveloped and there is a lot of construction. My taxi driver didn't know where it was and only by asking many questions and with extensive use of the internet did we find it. As a transit point (ie a place to sleep before going elsewhere it is fine )

Homely and Comfortable Place to Stay
This Hotel is still the best for me after staying in most of the Hotel in Balikpapan. I find this Hotel on its own is well kept, housekeeping of the areas are clean and maintained at all times.

Overall is good but lift is slow for a 4 star hotel. Cold shower is too low but hot water is too high!

A disappointment
This hotel was a bit of a letdown. The main issue was an air-conditioner that couldn't keep up with the heat load in the room, and I needed the room to do daytime work. As it turns out, the west-facing windows were single-pane, which strikes me as irresponsible in a tropical country. There were other parts of the property - slow elevators, mildew smell in lobby, that led me to suspect this hotel is struggling. With regard to service, I was also surprised at the limited English of their front desk staff and the amount of paper needed to close out my account, we ended up estimating some amounts because the invoices were incomplete. I wish the hotel and its staff well, but they have a ways to go in making this a business-class property/

Swiss-BelHotel Balikpapan
Well turned out hotel by the city sea front (not beach). We went to Berau and on to the Derawan Archipelago. Had a great time there, but the sea journey was very bumpy and long in a little speedboat with no toilet. Weather at this time of year is not the best and will not improve much, we are told, until March or so. Still we had a good time snorkelling and diving. We needed a place to overnight since the connecting flight on our return was next day. But this hotel is quite well placed in Balikpapan. Food was good with both western and Asian varieties in their buffet breakfast. Construction next door may limit view later.

Good Ocean View but Smelly at Low Tide
This nondescript hotel redeems itself by having a sea view, The sulfur smell is sometimes over powering at low tide. The adjacent shopping centers provide low cost foods, just a short walk away. A reprieve in this busy oil and gas town.

The hotel view
The hotel is well situated near to shopping and restaurant. The room had a sea view looking at the far horizon. However, the construction next to the hotel spoiled the tranquil of the place, the dust from there added on to this dismal... For a short stay is a good deal...

Great New Hotel But...
The Swiss-Belhotel is a new hotel in Balikpapan. Rooms were nice and clean. Front desk personnel were courteous and helpful. Good gym and pool area. Great selection of breakfast. The only thing I noticed is that the material used for the hotel were not so nice. Tiles looked like rejects with holes and porosity. The elevator was not level to the floor which caused me to trip a couple of times. This hotel will wear out fast in a couple of years. But overall a pleasant stay.
