We arrived in November and after reading reviews of other hotels in the area that were too cold for guests, we were delighted that our double room in the Waldorf was warm and cozy with a comfortable bed and a hot shower. We were also pleased that the Pleasure Beach Amusement Park was only a short walk away and hotel parking was included in the price. Most of all, we were extremely impressed at how accessible, friendly, helpful and accommodating Steve, the hotelier was. We had a wonderful stay and we would definitely love to return for another holiday.

First time I have ever left any hotel early thats if you can call it a hotel, dirty floor, skirtings, no bar, no food, just a room like a hostel with a shower tray that fills up and a shower head that hit me twice as it didn't stay up. Every socket seemed to have an air freshener to hide the odour which didn't do my asthma any good. I have stayed all over the country in lots of different quality hotels from the top brands to lower end hotels and this hotel had more rules than a prison with threats of being charged for anything and everything even a mark on a towel, never seen this in any hotel anywhere. Actually held off on my review so I know I would not get charged for anything as a come back for writing this review.

I'm none to sure what you expect from a budget hotel, We provide Free parking, Direct Dial Phones, Free Wi-Fi, complementary Tea, Coffee, Milk and Biscuits and a 32 inch Smart TV's , if there is anything else you can think of please call me on the hotel number, I've been in the industry 21 years this year but not to proud to ask guests for guidance and assistance. to improve what we do.We look forward to seeing again on your next visit to Blackpool

The hotel is very dated it needs a complete upgrade. The bed was uncomfortable as an old mattress. The only plus points were the very hot water from the bathroom tap and the fact that our room was at the back of the hotel so it was quiet

Hi, the hotel was built circa 1934 so the ceiling is typical of hotels of that era. Our mattresses are NOT the memory foam that most people now opt for at home as then have to be CRIB-5 certified and are therefore spring based which may feel firmer than mattresses that you have at home.I'm not quite sure what you are looking for in a budget hotel (approx 41/night after tax + Commission) , we provide free tea, coffee, biscuits (not supplied by most hotels these days) Direct dial telephone, Free FAST wi-fi and a either a 28 or 32 inch smart TV.If you require more there are always the large chain hotels like the one next door to us which on the weekend of your stay was over 120 per night more expensive

Good value for money accommodation, the room was spotless clean and refreshed daily. The bed was so comfortable, a smart tv and four piece bathroom. There was also free car parking in a secure area around the back of the hotel. Steve was very accommodating and was always on hand. It’s a shame that breakfasts were not an option due to chef shortages.

Value for money
The owner was amazing, nothing was too much bother. Helpful hints and suggestions. Very clean rooms and bedding. We missed having food on site, but was informed in advance. Nice little bar and pool table.

We stayed for a weekend. Steve the manager couldn’t be more accommodating or helpful. He was pleasant to chat to, efficient and helped us with any queries etc. A pleasure to meet! The hotel itself needs some updating in terms of decoration etc, but it was clean and perfectly fine. Thank you for looking after us Steve!

On arrival the hotel was freshly painted outside, when inside theres a very open reception area with seating which makes all the difference as i can't stand still or walk for long periods due to a spinal injury Steve the owner was very pleasant and made it clear if we needed anything while checking in he would be happy to help. I took the lift upstairs but there was also a one way stairs route so you wouldnt meet anyone coming the opposite way. When we arrived to our floor the carpets were new and thick you could feel the plush bounce under your feet and the corridors smelt lovely and fresh. On arrival to our room our rooms were clean our beds well made and towels put out for each of us we booked the family of 5 room. There was tea and coffee making facilities complimentary biscuit packs. A tv and remote in each room, a hair dryer handwash and shower gel in the bathroom. The next day while we were out housekeeping remade our beds, washed our cups and replenished tea coffee and milk. On arrival back to the property Steve was lovely and chatty its nice that he was interested in our stay and offered us plates and cutlery for our take out. We had a drink in the bar where there was a vending machine for pringles a pool table and large tv we enjoyed a peaceful drink and my husband and son played a game of pool my youngest also learnt how to play pool for the first time. There were covid screens at reception and at the bar to. We had another comfortable nights sleep.

Nice for one or two nights stay not more. Reasonable price. If you are looking for luxurious stay, this is not the place. However very appropriate for someplace near the pleasure beach, the south and central pier and the aqua park. Also sea view rooms but in the summer and non air conditioned, was extremely hot and couldn't spend much time in. There was no breakfast available during our two night stay. Receptionist was very friendly and memorable though. Overall would rate 7,8 out of 10.

Does the job and clean
This is a decent enough hotel for the price. The rooms are clean (apart from the shower which had a toilet paper wrapper stuck behind the shower head). The staff are very friendly and helpful, the location is spot on if you want to visit the pleasure beach (about brisk 10 minute walk). Overall for the price you won’t go wrong!!!

If I had turned up and not booked (paid) just the first look at it was enough to drive off. Couple it with locked doors just wasn’t the impression you want. Whole hotel frontage needs painting and doors refreshed. Inside very out dated with smashed windows on the internal floor doors. Room was as we expected small and had damaged fittings but most of all was as hot as a green house with no access to a fan. Website said onsite parking ( more like 5 spaces so a bit of a con) I travel most weeks and unfortunately this is definitely not a place I would return too.

Hi Mark, the internal glass to which you refer was broken just prior to your arrival, a glazier has been called to replace it. I'm not sure which fittngs in your room were broken, all the lights, Radio Alarm, Telephone, Hairdryer all work and the TV was repaced in May this year - perhaps you might spare a moment to call me and let me know so I can get the items repaired or replaced ? We have a car park at the rear of the hotel, if people park sensibly it will take about 16 cars. This weekend somebody staying at a neighbouring hotel (that charges £12 per night for parking - WE DON'T CHARGE) abandoned their car over three parking spaces. It wasn't until they received a parking ticket for £60 that they decided it was cheaper to park at their own hotel for £12 than try take advantage of our free parking.

There are times and mercifully they are few and far between when Nothing we as hoteliers can do satiates a guests need to be heard. In this instance you booked three rooms for single occupancy each including breakfast, on arrival decided that you did not want breakfast and asked for it to be cancelled. Your colleagues expressed their disappointment at this and as we were able to provide vegetarian breakfasts for two of you and traditional English breakfast for one; this was agreed, we even offered to open our dining room 90 minutes early so that you could still be at work for 7:30. Then unilaterally you cancelled to the disappointment of your colleges. The following day evening you complained that you were uncomfortable in your room, IMMEDIATELY I offered to change it but you insisted on a 45 minute monologue before accepting my offer to change room.. Its true, you really can please some of the people most of the time and some .... Well you might as well give up before you even start. We did refund the cost of the breakfasts not taken even though we were not obliged to do so, sadly as we were p[aid by Expedia and not yourself we were unable to do this directly to your card and human error at Expedia's office meant the incorrect amount was returned to your card - THIS WAS IMMEDIATELY corrected when I contacted them. For future reference you are more likely to obtain the best from people you encounter during life if you keep your dummy FIRMLY IN THE PRAM

Hotel was shut due a faulty gas boiler meaning no hot water and so after a phone call from the owner i was transferred to an alternative nearby property all arranged by the Waldorf Hotel owner called Steve..

A facelift would make all the difference.
The outside appearance of hotel is shocking, but inside communal area is good. Our 2 bedrooms were lovely (refurbished and clean). We and other guests we spoke to thought the hotel was closed down on arrival and thought we had been scammed.

HI, Thank you for taking the time to post your review, it is much appreciated. I have already mentioned on two other review sites the outside of the building was due to be decorated June / July this year but due to the unseasonably hot weather the painter said it would be better postponed until the weather cooled. Most guests when they make their reservations fail to notice that we commence check in from 3 pm and arrive early. We use the time between check-out (10:45 am) and 3 pm to service the rooms of guests currently in house, and clean and make over rooms for guests arriving that day.

The hotel looks 'tired' from the outside but inside it was clean and comfortable. It only serves breakfast but they were huge and delicious. Steve, the owner, was very nice and extremely helpful.

Hi Alan, thank you for taking the time to write a review and for your kind words, the are much appreciated. We had planned on repainting the outside of the hotel in June / July but with the heatwave the decorator said it would be wiser to wait until a little later when temperatures cooled down a little. Hopefully we can get it done before the winter or certainly before next season starts up. I hope to see you next time you visit Blackpool
