The battery in our portable phone had failed to charge on the day you checked in, and we had not realised this until you found us and said you had been ringing from reception with no response. Thanks Andrea. We are pleased that you had a good stay overall, but we are sorry you experienced noise from above. There is a sound-dampening layer between the two levels, but this material cannot eliminate all noise in an older timber structure such as this. We do ask guests going into the upstairs units to consider those below them, and most people seem to take this on board as we rarely have complaints about noise.
