"We arrived 2 hours after check in time, the desk was manned with a very helpful gentleman. Unfortunately, two of the lifts were out of order with only one lift working servicing the hotel. We had an executive room, which was clean and tidy upon arrival. We were slightly disappointed that we did not find out that the executive lounge only had food available for two hours throughout the day between the hours of 6-8pm which they called happy hour. However, this is not made clear on thirdparty booking sites, so something to look out for if you book an executive room for access to snacks all day. The young gentleman Amar who tended the executive lounge was very courteous and helpful nothing was too much for him to assist with . The food available at the executive lounge for the happy hours was reasonable this consisted of 2 hot dishes, spring rolls ( which were a little dry) and chicken wings, humus, some vegetable crudités , sandwiches, a small selection of cheeses, pork salami and Turkey ham as well as a bistro salad bowl with olive oil and balsamic. For the items available 24/7 in the executive lounge there were crisps, biscuits, popcorn, and sweeties in jars and some fruit. If I would’ve booked the exec lounge and missed the happy hour 6-8pm , I would’ve been unhappy. Alcohol drinks available 6-8pm with spirits, red white and sparkling wines, becks bottle beer. Also tonics, lemonade cola, sparkling water and water. Once happy hour was done so was alcohol."

Frensham Pond Country House Hotel & Spa

"The room was nice although the bed wasn't made properly. There was no shower gel. The desk chair was so low you could barely reach the desk. But it was comfortable and peaceful. The evening meal was a disappointment. Dessert (Crumble) was stone cold so clearly microwaved (barely). Awareness of diners was poor. A coke was brought that looked like dish water as the pump had presumably run out but the waiter had no idea why I didn't want it. The restaurant manager was disinterested about the stone cold dessert. The menu has gone downhill when it used to be close to fine dining. It's now barely dining. Earlier lunch was slow to arrive at 2.30pm (only a club sandwich) but at least the morning and lunchtime staff were good and largely attentive. The hotel aesthetics internally and externally are great. They are a better restaurant away (as it used to be 5 years ago) from being a good hotel. NB I emailed the hotel that evening. I am yet to receive a response either at checkout or the day after so far."

"Our room it was very clean and comfortable Breakfast on first day wasn’t very good lots things missing have to ask but it was replaced . The Hotel was very busy in that day second day was much better and we could enjoy the swimming pool"
