Recently updated hotel room. Compact but comfortable and quiet for a 1 night stay. Tried in-house French restaurant which exceeded our expectations. Excellent food, wine and service.

We were attending a wedding in the area so this Motel was in a convenient location. Ensuite very tiny and if we were large built people, we would have had trouble using the toilet as there was a wall 12 inches away from the toilet seat. Otherwise the place was great.

Precisely as expected. I haven’t yet tried the food at the restaurant, but the menu appears both extremely old school and delicious. Its text book kracknell and Kaufman, and the gnocchi sounds amazing

The Buckingham

We stay here often because it’s always clean , comfortable and friendly. This time they were in a state of refurbishment and the Restaurants were closed but we found a lovely fish and chippery just around the corner. The service at the motel didn’t disappoint.

The room was basic, which suited us perfectly for a one-night stay—it served its purpose as a place to sleep. We didn’t use the bar or restaurant, so can’t comment on those. Unfortunately, I had an issue with a neighboring guest who was playing loud music and making noise at 2:30am. I ended up knocking on their door to ask them to quiet down. I mentioned it to reception upon checkout, and they looked into it—turns out the room had been completely trashed. On a positive note, the location is excellent—right next to Southland Shopping Centre and with convenient access to public transport.

The hotel is set back from the busy highway so heard no traffic noise at all. Just over a 5 minute walk to the Highett station which has great train service to the city in just over 30 minutes. Woolworths and good local shops opposite the station. 15 minute walk to the Southland mall which has all the shops you could wish for. Room was a good size, stayed 5 nights and slept well throughout.
