"Had a fantastic experience at the Hotel El Faro! Highly recommend staying at this great hotel in a really cool town. The surrounding area is quiet and the port is close. There are newly built shops and restaurants. There’s even a small onsen right by the hotel. The cabin I stayed in was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The bed was very comfy and cosy. There is free parking onsite. Overall, amazing experience and I’m really happy I stayed here. Onagawa is a great little town!"

It was frustrating that Expedia's page represented that only breakfast was included at this hotel, but it turned out that both dinner and breakfast were included. "Good hotel and reasonable price including free breakfast. But it is a little bit far from Sendai. If you have a car and visit Oku-Sendai (Turistic place) or JASDF Matsushima base (Air show), its location is excellent. Just 300m from highway exit of Yamoto IC. "

"The hotel is very convenient to the train station, and provides a welcoming atmosphere. Staff are friendly and the rooms are clean. The hotel provides multiple vending machines for your convenience which is nice because the nearest 7/11 I could find was about a 10 minute walk. Getting near the port is also easy enough, it's about a 20 minute walk to the downtown area and some good restaurants. "
