Three of us stayed in two rooms between 19th - 22nd Feb as we were visiting nearby relatives. The hotel is very nicely decorated, clean and well presented. It's just a short walk to the beach which can be seen from some rooms. The beds were clean and comfy and towels were changed during our stay. The showers were great as the hot water had plenty of pressure and came through quickly. Our rooms had tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Elect sockets were located just where we needed them. But the best bit were the breakfasts - we were stuffed for most of the day after having the full English! These were an extra charge but the best value for money we've ever had. The choice was either continental or the full monty (it includes the continental if you've got a very big appetite), which was perfectly cooked and served along with toast and a pot of tea or coffee in the lovely dining room. Just a short walk away in Queen's Parade, are several restaurants and we highly recommend Shagorika (Indian) and Santino's (Italian). Next time we visit our relatives, we won't bother to look for any other hotel because it won't beat this one for value for money.

Very good!
Great little guest house and great location. The breakfast looked great but I wasn't able to partake unfortunately. If I had to make one criticism the room was a bit small especially the on-suite but that's a minor detail! Overall very good.

Thank you for the kind review Jon, we understand that a couple of our rooms might have slightly smaller bathrooms, it was just to be able to fit an en-suite in all rooms. Rather than having a sharing bathroom or single beds instead of double beds. But glad you were still able to enjoy your time with us and hope we see you again soon :)

We stayed (out of season) for 1 night to go to an event at the Souter Light House next day. Despite arriving quite early we were made welcome and given immediate access to one room (the other was being cleaned). The dining and bedrooms stood out as bright, fresh and modern with comfortable beds. In early January the only other guest left early next morning. This is a family business run by the lady owner. Unfortunately her daughter (who helps when free) forgot to pass on our breakfast order and next morning the owner was off-site. She made a special effort to return quickly and willingly cooked for us. When in the area we will aim to stay again.

Thank you for the lovely review, you were a pleasure to have. Unfortunately the breakfast did slip my mind as I was deep cleaning the rooms till late and then went straight to bed without seeing mum. Really sorry for that, you can have a breakfast on me next time you stay as I still feel guilty for you guys having to wait all that time for some food

Friendly and helpful host even on Christmas day I recieved a telephone call giving me the option to check in early. Room was spotless and warm and I fel very safe . The owner even made considerations to what room would be best suited for me as there were other guests stsying there. Seamless stay , no isues issues whatsoever. I would highly recommend this hotel to future guests considering where to stay in this area.

Lovely room, very Comfortable and clean. Nice white bedding and sheets. Warm welcome on arrival. We didn’t not have the breakfast so can not comment. Across the way from the sea front with a selection of eateries/ bars and entertainment. Would definitely stay here again

Check-in was easy, the room was clean and tidy with good facilities except for clothes stowage for a long stay, i.e. more than a couple of days. The drinks facility was topped up daily, without having to ask which was nice nowadays. The bathroom fittings were modern and in good order with an excellent shower. We did not use the breakfast facility as we were visiting relatives nearby and there was no evening meal provision. Parking was fine, a disabled slot had been added since our last visit which took up one space that was never used during our stay which was for 3 nights.

Thank you for your lovely review, we really appreciate it - the disabled bay was put in as we do have disabled guests on occasion and they find it difficult to get parked nearby. However you can ask the staff if we have anyone using the bay at the time and if not it is treated like a normal parking space. - Just for next time :)

worth your while to choose this hotel
I liked the property and particularly the friendly owner and his wife who tried wherever possible to make the hotel experience as good a they could. When in Sunderland give Lemonfield a go - you will not be disappointed.

Little Gem in Seaburn
The hotel was lovely, we had the Margaret room with a four poster bed and a great view of the coast. Hotel staff very attentive and friendly. We both had an excellent sleep and our breakfast next morning was superb. My husband even left his cash in the bed and the rang me and contacted me through Hotel.com to alert us to this.

Just perfect
The location of hotel was in a great position in walking distance of the Sea Front. A lot of time and effort has gone into making it very modern and comfortable. The management and staff were very helpful and under the current circumstances strictly adhered to social distancing, especially in the dining room. The breakfast menu was very comprehensive and well cooked and presented. We will definitely be returning next year. Maureen & Mike
