Berjaya Langkawi Resort

"Most enjoyable stay for so many reasons. While the property is a bit dated, it is very well maintained. It is rather out of the way, but the fact it is nestled between the sea in the front and forest behind, I did not mind the drive. You can experience either the serenity of the sea or sounds of the forest, depending on the chalet you choose to stay in. Housekeeping is excellent, services offered is extensive, food quality and options are amazing, staff is consistently friendly and accommodating. Many small things like loanable amenities, having two sinks in the bathroom, refillable minibar, generous bathroom, no plastic bottles used, balcony with a sunset view, ever present security guards etc. made our stay so very memorable."

"The staff at the Aloft made me feel so welcome when I arrived it changed my trip, right from the beginning to the end, I truly had the best time the staff are all amazing happy & friendly and the location and elevated pool for the stunning Langkawi sunsets made my holiday a perfect one especially as a solo traveller for the first time, I will be back! "We spent a week at the wonderful Danna to celebrate my husband’s 60th Birthday and we couldn’t have chosen a better hotel. From arrival until departure, the accommodation, service, cleanliness, food & drink, ambience and attention-to-detail were exceptional. We received such a warm greeting on arrival including a shoulder massage. The Countess Suite had two balconies with amazing views over the pool, beach and harbour. The kitchen area had a minibar, Nespresso coffee machine with complimentary pods, replenished daily, numerous bottles of complimentary spring-water, a fruit bowl with fresh fruit and a cake stand which was restocked each afternoon with a mix of savoury and sweet treats freshly made in the kitchen. We travelled with hand luggage only, so we sent some clothing to the laundry while there and it was returned like it had been dry cleaned. My husband got some turmeric sauce on a blue linen polo shirt, and it came back like new. We also sent a white linen shirt that had lost its whiteness, and it came back like it was new. Huge kudos to the laundry staff there as the service is outstanding! I felt completely relaxed after my 90 mins spa experience. The pool is large so lovely to be able to swim full lengths and the loungers on the beach as so relaxing looking out towards the boats in the sea. All of the restaurants and bar serve amazing food and drinks and the service is second to none. This has to be the BEST hotel we have ever stayed in, we LOVED The Danna!"

"Excellent. Absolutely lives up to its 5 star reputation. Service interactions were all welcoming, pleasant and accommodating to our needs. Our room was perfection. Balcony was pleasant, there is plenty of comfortable seating choices in the room. The bathroom is a highlight. Housekeeping service was impeccable, right down to a lovely bubble bath, strewn with rose petals, they prepared on two occasions. Diptyque products. Food at all the venues, particularly the breakfast buffet, was excellent. Spa services were very good and the spa setting is stunning. Grounds and landscaping are well maintained. There are some lovely garden walks to enjoy. The onsite gym is nice and was reasonably busy on the days that I used it. Beach is well groomed. We were unable to enter the water the few days that we were there due to warning flags. Pools were nice enough. The adult pool was closed for maintenance during our visit, an alternative pool was offered at one of the beachfront villas, but we did not use it. The family pool was busy with children, as expected. There was not much shade cover to be had at the adult pool and it would have been extremely hot baking the sun (hopefully they are addressing that with the renovations) Of note, the resort is on a very hilly slope. Our 3 story building didn’t have an elevator. There are plenty of golf carts available to take you where you need to go. If accessibility is an issue for you this could be a hindrance. Outstanding property."

Holiday Villa Resort & Beachclub Langkawi

10/10 Excellent

"The resort is an older property that would benefit from a little updating. Having said that , it did not detract from an excellent stay, exceptionally helpful staff, an amazing breakfast buffet and a location that was perfect. Sunset from our balcony was a special moment. We only eat in the resort one evening and were pleased with the variety of options. However, as with all resorts, food is more expensive that local restaurants. We used the pool by the glass bar so as to avoid the children in the main pool. All in all recommended."
