Great venue value for money . But breakfast was a real let down . Had the potential to be good , presented well but actually awful - overcooked , cold and left un replenished early on in the breakfast session on a Sunday . Not worth £18 per person at all .

Television didn't work properly, unable to access on network due to lack of identity, you could try each on the 300 long list if u have time. Beds need updating/ screws tighter based on noise from rooms above and next to me. I won't be back to pentahotel.

Extremely useful for town centre. Rooms functional. Shower fabulous. Plenty of room for toiletries.
Breakfast stops at 10am even on weekend.

Not many plug sockets in the room, where you’d think there’d be a socket there wasn’t. Could have had more tea / coffee selection. Breakfast, needed more attention as think staffing got caught out, dirty tables, out of food, crockery and utensils.

Windows need refitting
Hotel is quirky and down stairs really good. But massively noisy in the rooms. (417). Admittedly I was next to the road but I think the fact that the window didn’t fit the frame was letting the freezing air in along with persistent road noise. It was quite draining.
I have attached a picture of the window seal and gap in it. It was -3 last night also.

Good sized room - and clean. Shower was a bit weak but ok. Friendly and helpful staff. Great bar area - with games. Parking a bit of a fuss as had to park in car park not attached to hotel.

Nice hotel, well-located but needs refurbishment.
This hotel is quite tired and really needs refurbishment. One my stay - one lift out of 2 lifts was out of order leading to long waits for a lift and sometimes a long queue - the curtains in my bedroom could not properly shut across the window, the shower pressure was weak.
However, the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is well-located in Reading, price was okay. Basing was comfortable and the room was clean.

With only a few staff it's hard to get served quickly. The breakfast seems to be getting worse. I arrived at 8am to find nearly everything gone! No bacon, beans, eggs, yoghurt or glasses for juice!
