Kick-start the quest for an upmarket Shanghai base by looking into the amenities and rates at The Peninsula Shanghai (32 Zhongshan Dong Yi Road) and The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong (Shanghai ifc No.8 Century Avenue). The Renaissance Shanghai Yangtze Hotel (2099 Yan An Xi Road) and the Four Points by Sheraton Shanghai, Pudong (No 2111 Pudong Nan Road) have good reviews if you want something more budget friendly.
Another great option is to stay near the Bund. You can do this by checking in at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund, which is only 0.4 miles (0.6 km) away. Also recommended is the Pudong Shangri-La East Shanghai, a mere 0.3 miles (0.5 km) away.
Have you booked your plane tickets for your trip to Shanghai yet? When you arrive, get ready to walk out into Hongqiao International Airport (SHA). It's 8 miles (13 km) from here to the middle of town.
This is one amazing property -- room was large enough for a family! Amenities like the gym and the pool are rare finds in the city! The breakfast spread was amazingly wide in variety and no one can complain about the choices. Staff was very courteous and helpful! rating

The hotel is modern and in a great location. We asked for a room on a high floor with a view of the bund. The reservation people were great giving us a excellent view.
Hotel has an unrivalled view of the bund and the rooms were furnished nicely. Only inconvenience is the 2 separate elevators to bring you to your room .. which we can’t really complain when we stayed on the 75 floor
Awesome high end hotel in convenient place next to train. Only negative is that I’ve stayed here twice now and the showers in both rooms have been hot and cold. Quite annoying.
Please give us a voucher of limousine service for double confirmation, not only talking.
Clean & quiet room, friendly staff, excellent location. I love the gym. Weather was too cold and the outdoor pool was closed but it looked nice. The bathtub is quite weird, they installed a swinging glass door on the side of the tub but that actually cannot stop water from spilling out. Also, there ...
