"A great hotel in Oxford. Perfect location, with easy walking distance to all the key sites in Oxford. The rooms were really comfortable and updated. The staff was incredibly helpful with recommendations, and they had a reserved parking spot behind the hotel, which made it extremely convenient. Plus the restaurant at the hotel was excellent. Highly recommended."
"I tried 3 different emails & on hold for 15 minutes to try to book parking before arriving and did not get a response. I phoned again on the morning we were due to arrive & was finally able to book parking. It is valet parking as the hotel is in the city centre, £48 a night but we thought the best option.
The hotel itself was beautiful. Our room was well equipped with tea, coffee machine, air-con & fridge. I requested a room with bath which was honoured. The bed was a good size although it felt a little like a water bed if the other person moved! Pillows were big & comfortable. Lovely decor.
We had drinks in the Morse Bar & were served by a lovely gentleman in a suit whose name we didn’t get but he was great. There is limited seating in the bar but there is another bar in the restaurant with bar stools at the bar.
I had a massage in the spa which was much appreciated and well done.
We were greeted warmly by all staff that we encountered.
Apart from the email/parking issue we would recommend. "
"Loved the hotel and room and the staff were amazing. Walkable to everywhere and loads of food options nearby. The reception staff were great, would 100% stay again. Thank you for a great trip to Oxford. "
"I’m really pleased I booked to stay here for the night. The hotel is on a nice quiet street just off a main road with lots of shops, restaurants and is well connected to the bus network. The room was spotless with a very comfortable bed (I slept brilliantly). I would stay again. "
"My wife and I spent a night here at the end of July. We had asked for a room on the first floor, which we given. Check-in was quick and easy. The room, whilst small, had all the aminities necessary, including a kettle with branded tea and coffee, sugar and sweetners, sachets of milk in the mini fridge and two biscuits. There were also two cans of still water in the fridge. There was also a 32-inch flat-screen TV and Free WiFi which worked well. The bathroom toiletries were by L'Occitane and there were plenty of towels provided.
The central location was excellent for seeing the city sights. It was only five minute walk to the bus station and a food market was just around the corner.
I was particularly impressed by the amount of information provided by the hotel prior to our arrival, infrming me of ID to bring, local parking facilities, check-in time, etc. If we visit Oxford again I will certainly consider the Bocardo as my place to stay."
