Nice hotel
Very conveniently located close to the main station. Room is about right size. Comfy for a single person like me or a couple. The only thing is that the room has no window that I didn't pay attention when I booked.

The location is very convenient and close to variety of eateries and street food. The rate is acceptable. The facility is not up to good shape. Linens and towels are old and greyish. Once the bathroom is wet, you can see dust sticking to the ground and tub.

Ok stay
It was a generally comfortable stay in a very convenient location . We thought the price was rather high considering it was an old hotel with basic amenities and in need of general repairs . For example the bathroom cabinet was peeling away , the towels were gringy and there was a mouldy smell about the room. The decor was very dated as well. The best part was the location as it was minutes walk to Taipei Main Station as we needed to get to the airport the next day.

Very close to Taipei Main Station and a lot of restaurants. Many convenience store around the hotel. All staff are very helpful and friendly.

The Royal Hotel is a very satisfactory lodging in Taipei. The hotel is close to the Taipei train station. The surrounding area is right on the margin of a very busy retails area, Ximending, that has a very large variety of merchants. The people who run the hotel are kind, the premises are clean, and the rooms are up to date.

Room size is too small. for the rate
Check in time on Saturday and Sunday is after 5:00pm which is too late for customers as they rent to "short Rest" customers. The check in time of most hotels in Taiwan is 2:00pm-3:00pm 7 days a week, however, this hotel's "check in" and "check out" time is not flexible and not convenient for business man and family to stay..

The staff was fine, the room is relatively run down. middle of night can hear someone trying to open my room door knob. Air-conditioning need to improve. no warm water shower.

unpleasant than expected
it was only for the night. room smells and very dusty. reserved a room with a city view. no city view. view of the emergency stairs. wifi was only available in the hallway, need to open the door to use it. large bathroom was the plus. people were friendly was another plus.

Budget price close to Main station
For what it cost us it was more than adequate accommodation. The mattress was solid but we slept alright. The bathroom was comfortably compact and clean. Breakfast was included for us. It was Asian style but toast, half a boiled egg and jam got me going. Gave us easy access to the bus to take us to the airport.

A budget hotel
Location is convenient, near to Taipei Station. Room is super small, can barely open my suitcase. Bed is little dirty with dust on it. Pillow is uncomfortable.

Good location
This hotel has a great location right next to the subway station can take you to anywhere you in Taipei. Staff are friendly, room is alright, the down side is once a while I can smell the second hand smoke from somewhere that makes me so uncomfortible since I do not smoke, and the law in Taiwan does not allow any one smokes inside of any building, hope they can do something to prevent this problem.

No frills stay
The hotel is within walking distance to the Taipei Main Station. There are also a handful of food and convenience stores in the area. The room was adequate and clean, nothing fancy. They also provided free wifi. They also serve complimentary breakfast, which was very basic. We arrived at 3am, and check in was very prompt and efficient. Check out was a breeze too. We requested front desk to hire a taxi to bring us to the airport. It seemed like only 1 person from the staff knew how to speak English, and they didn't have english maps.

The hotel is just located opposite the Taipei Main Station which consist of all the transportation mode (bus, mrt, HSR and railway). Starbucks, MacDonald, Family Mart (mini mart) are around the corner (less than 2 min walk) and directly opposite the hotel offer local delight. The room that we booked do not have any window but we think it is fine. Only concern for us was that there was mild unpleasant smell along our corridor, maybe it was due to being the same floor as the washing machine and dryer. Maybe just try not to stay on the second floor.

Very worthwhile stay!
Excellent service and quality considering the price of the hotel. Although we haven't tried their free breakfast, but at least they offered it. Very convenient, staff was helpful and willing to keep our baggage after check-out. We didn't stay in the hotel room much since we were out mostly so it's a good choice if just wanted somewhere to stayover.

Convenient for Taipei tracfic central
Close to Taipei Station so very convenient for bus, metro, high speed rail and train to where you want to go for the whole Taiwan. With luggage you will be in 10-15 min walk to station. If you feel like walking to visit this city, this will be in short distance walk to Ximending, Office of th president, CKS Memoral Hall etc. compared to walking up and down to the metro station. Staff are pleased and helpful. Breadfast is good with limited options for western style, but don't forget you are in Asia so you shall adapt the diet or go for such as Madonald. starbucks, KFC which are all nearby as you are in the central heart of traffic network. Hotel is overall clean. Space are limited no matter in room, lobby or buffet.

Royal hotel - A Tipid hotel in a great setting
Was fantastic! Very convenient and close to taipei metro station and railway station, ximingding. I like the accessibility to transport and also easy reach to amenities. Good deal and comfortable with breakfast. Hassel-free.
