Amazing hotel!! If you are visiting area and can afford that bit more, then choose this place. You will NOT be disappointed!! Family run business and they were lovely!! Pool awesome and they have a hot tub!! We loved it!!

Our stay in Torquay.
Really enjoyed our stay at the Riviera Lodge Hotel. The people who owned it and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean. The room was a compact double and enough for our needs. Tea and coffee and 2 bottles of water in the room. The breakfast was enjoyable. Would definitely go back to the same hotel again.

Lovely hotel would book again!
Overall this is probably one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. Nothing was too much and we enjoyed our stay that much so, that we extended our stay for another two nights. Very clean. Breakfast was provided with a large variety to choose from. Bar area was nice, had a pool table and liked the personal touch that there were packs of cards/dominos for guests to use as well. Pool area was lovely and we used the hot tub which was great too. It was sanitised between uses. The only negative was the room we were moved to for the final night was very small compared to our previous room. They did ask if we would like to view the room and we did say no. I just felt that as the rooms were the same price, they were very different in size. The room on the last night also got very, very warm. However, we had a great stay overall and the hotel was in a desirable location also. We would definitely consider going back again!

Very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was great and the pool and jacuzzi also. A good location and easy to access the harbour and town centre. The wifi in my room was pretty non existent but was advised that they are aware of this and do have boosters. The weak wifi connection seems to be the case for most venues in the Torquay area though so not really a fault of the hotel I’d suggest. I would recommend staying here and have already to my friends.

Great location. Everything about the hotel was excellent the pool area (although we didn’t use the pool) the bar. Our room was lovely. The owners were very helpful. Check in was easy & quick. Would definitely book a stay again

Lovely place to stay in s perfect position , pool and hot tub in the lovely garden , breakfast was nice , shower in bathroom had little pressure and could have been easier to work but overall we would stay again , hosts could not go enough for us

A great find 👍
Just returned from a weekend stay at Rivera Lodge, we enjoyed everything about it, friendly professional owners and staff, swift and easy check in/out, very clean hotel, nice rooms, a lovely bar, seating area over looking a very well maintained heated pool and garden area contain a hot tub (although sadly never got to use them due to the English weather,), very good location a 10 min walk to beach and Torquay town, would definitely recommend and will be visiting again 👍

Warning – please read carefully! We came across this hotel on the Expedia site and were looking forward to a week away as we were caring for my mum 24/7 and were ready for a weeks respite with mum going into a care home during our break. We had booked 2 rooms so my daughter and partner could come with us. Sadly on the 30 June 2019 my mum died suddenly and unexpectedly. This was the day we were to travel down and start our holiday. I informed the Hotel owners at 11.30am and explained we would not be able to come under the very sad circumstances so they could re-let the rooms. Later I enquired about a refund expecting a gesture in the very sad circumstances. All I got was a list of excuses why no refund at all would be given. We were shocked as were Expedia! They actually made more profit out of us than usual with NO food cost, NO cleaning or linen costs. I will never book at this hotel again as the owners showed no compassion offering not a penny refund and are only interested in their own bank balance. If you do book here you need to worry if you don’t have travel insurance. We lost over £1188!!!!

Your booking was an Expedia pay booking this means you paid Expedia in full at the time of booking. As a result you needed to speak to Expedia to inform them that you needed to cancel your booking on the day you were due to arrive. We were unable to release or cancel your rooms as it was an Expedia booking, they did not cancel on your behalf. If we could have released the rooms that you booked we would have tried to get a booking to replace yours, therefore the rooms remained empty for the entire duration of your planned stay. If we had been able to re-let the rooms to another guest we would have refunded you the money for those nights. We informed you that we are a small family run seasonal business and explained that in relation to your booking 15% has already been taken by Expedia for their commission. 20% has been paid to HMRC for VAT. The remainder has been used to pay staff, overheads, advertising, utilities and running costs. The reason we need to have a cancellation policy is that if guests do not arrive for any reason we still have to pay our staff and overheads. We can not refuse to pay our suppliers or staff because a guest has cancelled late even in such sad circumstances. We make sure the policy is clearly written on our website and on all booking forms before a potential guest enters into a booking contract with us. The reason it is a two week cancellation is to attempt to enable us to replace guests who booked but who are no longer able to stay with us. Cancellation is always free up to 14 days before arrival.

Birthday trip for one of our group
Good hotel, rooms are on the small side but well equipped. Shower was tight but worked well. Breakfast was fairly good, reasonable cereal choice, fruit choice was adequate. Cooked was variable, eggs tended to be overdone. Staff were great, nothing was too much. Hotel is up a stiff hill but about 10 minutes from the front

The owners went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and looked after. Friendly staff, clean hotel, great sunny pool area/terrace, fab breakfast, comfortable surroundings.

Everything about it was amazing.. So clean lovely staff.. Couldn't say a bad word about this place.. Breakfast was so good to.. Not much of a walk to the town so all was good.. Defo be going back

Was ok not what I was expecting from the reviews I read before I went the breakfast was very basic it was a wet and cold weekend and it was freezing and they never put the heating on I was in room 18 and every time I moved on the bed it creaked son not what I expected when you read the reviews when people say breakfast was great 1 rasher if bacon one small sausage a spoonful of beans even if you had only bacon and egg with mushrooms you still only had one slice of bacon has I say when you read these great reviews and it does not live up to them whether it is because it is coming to the end of the season and they are closing next week and has I say because it was a cold and wet weekend and it was freezing in the hotel

Comfortable Stay in Torquay
We had a five night break at this hotel and found it to be comfortable & friendly. Clean room with comfortable beds and a great breakfast. The hotel has a good size pool and large hot-tub. Its in a great location for the town and seafront. The hotel is family run and you do get a personal service.

Our stay was just perfect. The hotel is clean and inviting and the staff are so helpful and friendly. Perfect location, there is a pool and a hot tub which is just wow and they can accommodate food allergies really well. I really can't fault our stay here and would not hesitate to stay there again! What wonderful owners and staff that work there - thank you for a fantastic holiday!

Tasteful and very clean if not ever-so-slightly dated. Room was adequate but could be bigger. Staff were great, very friendly and competent. Nice garden to relax in and good bar area. Outstanding Breakfast. Would highly recommend to my friends and family.

Not as good as last year
Good amenities such as pool & hot tub, 10 minute walk to harbour and centre of town. My husband and I visited here last year and felt the general outside cleanliness of the pool area and gardens has not been as well maintained as our previous experience. Rooms were cleaned every day with towels changed to. Healthy breakfast with different choices of cereal, fruit, yogurt, along with full English if desired, omelette was amazing along with the pool side snack(sandwich)we ordered one day. The only downfall in the morning for breakfast for us was having to make your own toast, toasters were extremely slow... Bar prices were a little sporadic as we ordered a few drinks with the correct change according to the bar drink menu on the tables to be told we didn't have the correct money due to the prices on their bar menu not being up-dated yet! Was extremely dissapointed half way through our stay when sitting in our room one evening our room door was opened from the outside by the owners son, there had been a guest that had forgotten their room number and they thought it might be ours, there was no knock beforehand or warning that they were trying to gain access, luckily I had just showered and adorned my bath robe 2 seconds earlier which saved me any embarrassment. The next morning I politely gave feed back in regards to the lack of warning we had that they were entering our room.....it seemed it fell on deaf ears I'm afraid.

Weekend break
I am 64 years old , my partner and I went for a 3 day break, I’ve been on holidays all my life but I have to say I have had the best 3 days of my life . I suffer with my legs, but the staff at the riviera lodge hotel were nothing less than amazingly friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble, we arrived hours early, we went to check they had my booking, they did and told me to wait while they checked if the room was ready, they did and it was so they let us into our room early , it is spotless there and I must say I’m fussy, beautiful pool and hot tub , very quiet and peaceful if that’s what you want, I didn’t want to come home and we’ve decided we are not going abroad next year we are going back here it’s perfect, thank you riviera lodge x

Wonderful hotel !
From the moment we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful, polite and accommodating. The room was excellent and above expectations. Breakfast first class and served with a smile. Snacks and bar meal highly recommended. For anyone wanting a perfect stay in Torquay there is not better choice, small friendly and perfect in every way.

Good hotel overall, pleasant and welcoming. Basic rooms, some are overlooked by other rooms. Rooms were clean and service was good. Breakfast times are very limited and not good for leisure stays. Location was good with easy access to the coast.

Excellent bed and breakfast
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel, very clean. Staff excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely and extremely well organised. We booked a small double but next time would book a larger room if available. However the room was still excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend and plan to return.

quiet location
the staff were very polite, and the breakfast was very good, also had a heated pool which we used. Only down side was a 15 minute walk to the nearest part of the beach. Oterwise cant fault the hotel.

Nice hotel close to the beach and shopping
From the moment we arrived we found it very welcoming the hotel was superb ie from decor,staff, room, and facilities on site heated outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi location perfect close to all the amenities
