Expedia Group Launches Singapore Healthcare Heroes Programme to Offer Discounted Hotel Rates at Select Hotels to Healthcare Workforce

*Due to continued demand for the Singapore Healthcare Heroes programme, we have update the content below to include the extended date of the programme and have expanded the list of properties currently offering the programme.

To show appreciation for Singapore healthcare professionals playing an invaluable role in the fight against COVID-19, Expedia Group is teaming up with hotel partners to provide rooms at substantially discounted rates for healthcare professionals to self-isolate, rest, and recuperate.

This is part of the new Singapore Healthcare Heroes Programme, introduced by Expedia Group, which offers special rate plans through participating hotel partners exclusively for healthcare professionals and will be available for booking starting 10 April.

At the time of the launch, 14 properties joined in to support and assist Singapore healthcare professionals with their temporary accommodation needs. Due to overwhelming support, today we  have a total of 35 hotel partners offering the Healthcare Heroes programme with booking validity until 31st July 2020.

Extension of programme date and expansion to more properties will be announced over time.

How to book for hotels under the Singapore Healthcare Heroes Programme:

  1. Click on any of the participating hotels listed below:

* Park Avenue Robertson will require a minimum length of 6 nights per booking

  1. Click “reserve” on your preferred room under the special ‘Singapore Healthcare Heroes’ room type.
  2. Key in personal details and provide a credit card for verification purpose (Note: credit card details are required for reservation purpose only. Full payment to be made at property upon check-in).
  3. Complete booking. A confirmation email will be sent to the specified email account.
  4. Upon checking in at the hotel, quote your booking confirmation number and provide your hospital ID for booking verification (For rooms that will be shared by multiple guests, all residing guests will need to show proof of hospital ID during the check-in process)

Q1: What is the Expedia Group Singapore Healthcare Heroes Programme about?

A1: To recognize the vital role Singapore healthcare professionals are playing in the fight against COVID-19, we would like to show our appreciation by allowing them to book a hotel room with select hotels in Singapore at a discounted rate.

Q2: Who is eligible to access this special Singapore Healthcare Heroes Programme?

A2:  The Singapore Healthcare Heroes Programme is open to all healthcare professionals (Singaporeans and non-Singaporeans) who are employees of:

  • Hospitals
  • Clinics
  • Home Care Facilities
  • Emergency Medical Services / Ambulance Services
  • Ministry of Health

Q3: How do healthcare professionals access these special rates?

A3: To do so, healthcare professionals can search for any of the participating hotels on www.expedia.com.sg or sg.hotels.com. Individuals will be required to provide their credit card details to reserve the room. The credit card provided is only for booking purposes. Payment will only be collected upon checking in at the hotel.

Q4: What documents are required for verification purpose?

A4: Healthcare professionals are to provide a valid proof of employment with photo identification and quote the booking confirmation number for verification purposes during the check-in process.

Q5: Is the Singapore Healthcare Heroes Programme available to frontline volunteers?

A5: This offer is currently only available to COVID-19 frontline healthcare professionals in Singapore. Expedia and Hotels.com will review the eligibility criteria in due course.

Q6: Will healthcare professionals eligible for the Singapore Healthcare Heroes Programme be able to share the special rates with family/friends?

A6: This offer is only available to Singapore healthcare professionals in the categories listed in A2 above. Healthcare professionals will not be allowed to extend this programme to family and friends.

Q7: Can healthcare professionals leverage this special offer for a later date?

A7: The Singapore Healthcare Heroes Programme is currently extended for stays up until 31 July 2020. Expedia Group is looking to extend this programme for a longer period based on government guidance.

Q8: Will there be a limit to the number of rooms each healthcare professional is able to book?

A8: Healthcare professionals are eligible to make a single booking at a single property at any given time for their own use. Each booking can accommodate up to 28 days in a row at maximum. To extend beyond 28 days, kindly make a new booking ahead of the end of duration of stay.

Q9: Is there a limit to the number of nights for each booking?

A9: There are no restrictions or limit to the length of stay for each booking on most properties. However, properties like Park Avenue Robertson and Louis Kienne Serviced Residences both require a minimum of 6 nights per booking.

Q10: What are the options for room type provided in this programme?

A10: Room category type may vary from property to property. All rate plans under this programme will have the name “Singapore Healthcare Heroes” attached to the property.

Q11: Will hotels under the Singapore Healthcare Heroes Programme isolate floors for healthcare professionals away from other guests?

A11: Selected hotel partners have specified dedicated arrangements for our healthcare heroes to not only enforce social distancing, but also ensure minimised contact with other hotel guests during this uncertain period.

Q12: Which hotels in Singapore will be part of this programme?

A12: There are 14* properties in Singapore that have joined Expedia Group to support and assist Singapore healthcare professionals with temporary accommodation needs. Participating properties are listed above.

Q13: Why isn’t this programme complimentary or subsidized, as done in other countries?

A13: The Singapore Healthcare Heroes Programme is an initiative led by Expedia Group brands (Expedia and Hotels.com) to make available special rates from our hotel partners as part of our focus to contribute and express our gratitude towards Singapore’s COVID-19 healthcare professionals while supporting our local hotel industry partners. Expedia Group brands will not be earning any form of commission through this programme.
