The pictures online when I did the booking did not match the room in reality. I know we were in Japan, so I was not expecting a huge space, however this room was extremely tiny, dirty, the covers on the bed had stains on them, the walls all over the room had brown stains on them and the bathroom had mould growing on the ceiling. It was by far the worst place I have stayed at. I was scared to breath or touch anything, I have travelled extensively and have stayed at airbnbs, luxury hotels and bed and breakfasts and hostels. None had been as terrible as this one. And the front desk lady when we checked in was quite rude.

Quite far way from Kyoto Station if you are not using the correct exit. its near to Koji Station, it is great if u use this train station instead. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is very nice.

Nice and clean room but quite small for 3 adults. No storage . No place to properly hang towels. Beds comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was decent. Convenient location, about 10 minutes walk to Kyoto Station. Would stay again if come back to Kyoto.

Staff were kind however they have a weird policy that you have to leave your key at reception when you go out of the hotel. I did this and when I returned - they just gave me the key without asking for any ID - I wasn’t very impressed by this.

Very convenient. Easy to find food in neighborhood. View of Toji from 8th floor a plus even with scaffolding. Breakfast ok. We had triple room, cramped but normally so for Japan

There are many restaurant around our hotel.Specially, AEON MALL is big supermarket and you can enjoy shopping and eating something. Toji temple is world heritage and you can get from here for 5 minutes by walk.And you also can enjoy Toju's pagoda and whole Kyoto city 's view from 8th floor in our Annex building. If you come to Japan again, please visit us , too!!

Rooms are small, but apparently that’s the norm in Japan. Breakfast was good, but fish is not available every day.

Great hotel in convenient location
Kyoto Plaza Hotel was a great hotel for exploring Kyoto. It's a short walk from Kyoto station (or 2 bus stops if you have luggage) and is close to Aeon Mall (a big shopping mall). Breakfast and traditional Japanese public bath are included with the stay. The breakfast was a simple buffet of mainly Japanese dishes and a few western ones, and was tasty and filling. The rooms are a bit small but very clean. Overall, it's very good value for money. I would recommend this hotel if you're looking for somewhere convenient to stay while exploring Kyoto/the surrounding areas and don't plan to spend much time in the room.

Very friendly staff
The hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk from Kyoto station. There’s a shopping mall across the street from it. The reception staff were very nice and incredibly helpful when we needed their help in making some Japanese phone calls. The bed is comfortable. There’s a nice Onsen free of charge. They share the reception with Plaza hotel which is a little old. Plaza Annex is very nice though.

Clean and convenient
The Plaza hotel is a typical Japanese hotel in this price range. Small,clean rooms with polite staff. It is easy walking distance to the railway station and even closer to a large shopping mall. The breakfast is totally Japanese with no concessions. We were happy with our stay here.

Great hotel!
Love this hotel. Few minutes walk to Kyoto Station, large shopping mall & restaurants. Staff are really nice and being very helpful. Hotel has free observation floor, washing machines with clothes dryers for guests to use with coins.

Ideal place to stay in Kyoto.
My 2nd visit to Kyoto. Stay at Kyoto Plaza was a great place to stay. Only a 10 minutes walk from Kyoto Shinkansen exit. Plus point it only 2-3 minutes away from Aeon Mall. Hence giving you a great area to be in. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was a good selection. Only set-back, breakfast area unable to coop when hotel is running high occupancy. Will stay again if visit Kyoto.

Great location - staff a bit lackluster when I asked for wrench for my bike they could not find one/ or assist me? They kept putting towels & bed sheets on door which we did not need - even after asking them not to? Room too small for place to put them - great view though! Brekkie great with good selection & good clean/ hot tub!!!

No frills place convenient to train station
Pretty basic older place was kind of pricey probably because it was high season. Really convenient to the train station which is what we wanted. Similar to other Japanese hotels with tiny rooms and bathrooms but works just fine. Breakfast was good.

I checked in and they held my bags for me. Problem is, when I was preparing to book they informed me they had parking at the hotel. After I arrived and was ready to park, they informed me there was no parking available.

An Average Hotel in a Good Location
I would rate this hotel 3.5 stars. This hotel has two buildings, main and annex. DO NOT stay in the main building. Fortunately, we stayed in the annex. It is newer, cleaner and the air is better. We went to the main building to do laundry one evening because the two washer and dryer machines in the annex building were occupied. The laundry facilities in the main building is on the 8th floor. I had to hold my breadth the whole time in the elevator. The carpet reeked with a combination of cigarette smoke and dirty carpet smells. The room is on the small side, even by Japanese standards, for this price point. The breakfast buffet was passable. The staff was courteous. We are able to communicate sufficiently well in English.

施設とアクセスが抜群の驚きのホテル
朝食が充実している。ベッドが狭い。大浴場は快適。自販機はもう少し充実してほしい。京都駅や九条車庫や東寺駅から近くて便利。はす向かいにイオンがあり、フードコートも充実している。地下鉄バスの2日パスで、動きやすい。

大浴場は良かった。
宿泊者数に対してのキャパ不足なため朝食会場が狭く落ち着いて食事が出来ない。料理の内容にも満足できない。エレベーターが小さい。 大浴場は良かった。低反発枕の貸し出しも良い。アメニティの髭剃りが良くないと引率したスタッフから大ブーイング。

価格から見るとまあまあよかった
京都駅から近くないが歩いて行けました。ベットは広く浴場も良かったですが、脱衣場の足元が濡れていて不快でした。イオンが角迎えにあり東寺も近くてよかったです。
