Great hotel with British charm!

We love staying at the Station Hotel, and we do every time we come to the Hither Green area. No noise from the bar! Very clean, friendly staff. One block from the train, 10 minutes to London Bridge, great little neighborhood and a grocery store across the street. Our go to place!

Station location!

Mainly positive experience. Room was large with high ceilings, bed decent, shower great. Pub downstairs is nice and friendly and the food is decent. Good breakfast and coffee made to order and one of the best croissants ever! Live music one night and a very good pint of Guiness! Very close to station which gets to London Bridge quickly and some local shops and restaurants. A couple of improvements would be better lighting and extraction in the bathroom. There was a coffee machine but that didnā€™t work.

We loved the hotel. It's very quaint and cozy. The room was also quite pleasant. The pub was also top-notch. The breakfast was delicious, and you could choose a different dish from the menu every day, which is included for hotel guests. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we felt very welcome. Except for one person at breakfast time, whose behavior was anything but hospitable. Rude and unwelcoming, you felt like a nuisance. Another guest was shouted at in the breakfast room when he was given something other than what he had audibly ordered and spoke up. Unfortunately, this one person had no desire or concern for service. She was unbearable for three days. The next day (the boss??? was present), she pulled herself together.

Unique property above a beautiful pub in a quiet area. Easy access to the train for getting in and out of the city. Great for a couple of nights stay. Bathroom could use a bit better light though. We enjoyed our stay here

Great location, have stayed a couple of times before as family live round the corner and is dog friendly. Love the pub for drinks and the garden. I find the rooms a bit basic. The lighting isn't very good in the room or the bathroom and the lights over the bed weren't working. The bed was comfortable and the rooms have always been surprisingly quiet.

My room was sweet, the hotel is on top of a bar and the neighborhood is quiet and pleasent. My room was at the first floor and the window faced a street light that was strong. I was able to shut the curtain and block the light but I preferred to have a view out of the window.

More than I bargained for!

Iā€™ve stayed in pub hotels before, unfortunately on band night too. I had low expectations but the station hotel was superb. The pub was packed but up in my room I didnā€™t hear anything - there isnā€™t a lift and a few stairs to climb but that was fine for me, I felt a little sorry for my room service. The area is brilliant, a small village feel with great shops and quaint Restaurantā€™s nearby. Iā€™ll be definitely going back to stay.

Gone downhill

Had several emails asking me to review the Station, I wouldnā€™t normally bother, but as iā€™ve emailed twice this week for my receipt and had no reply, maybe youā€™ll read this? Iā€™ve stopped here about 18-20 nights over the last couple of years. Iā€™ve seen the decline from good to not very good. Staff donā€™t seem to care any more. Website says breakfast served from 7. Itā€™s not. Been down twice to find ā€œchef doesnā€™t start till 8ā€. No use to me at that time, so I havenā€™t ordered breakfast recently. Shame. It used to be good. And at 7am. Last week I ordered my evening meal as a starter and main course. Pretty standard I thought, but the lad brought them together and said ā€œwhich do you want putting where?ā€. I asked him to put my main course in the kitchen as it would otherwise be cold by the time I finished my soup starter. He didnā€™t seem to get it. I was quite surprised, as Iā€™d made it really clear it was a starter and a main, due to the same thing happening last time I stayed. I blame the cook not the (clearly very inexperienced) waiter. It came back with the tartar sauce warm, so they had clearly just chucked the plate under the pass. Itā€™s not difficult. Itā€™s basically Wetherspoons food at restaurant prices.
