"On the plus, the room was immaculately clean, everything looked very new, and the bed was very comfy. I found the man on reception unwelcoming, and I am never impressed when a hotel reception says your room number out loud when you are a woman travelling solo. Need a company policy and training on this. It’s an old property, so no lifts (I was on the 4th floor but thankfully only an overnight bag). It is single glazed windows so a bit noisy, and not great sound proofing between rooms."

"Excellent buffet and à la carte menu. Deride always excellent. Sometimes a little slow but staff are amazing and food is excellent. The hotel is maybe starting to show a few frays around the edges but still my No 1 choice. "
