"The location is the best part of this hotel. The pools and outside spaces, restaurant and beach areas are very well maintained and better than most in PV. The rooms themselves are very very small, rundown and old, that would be my only complaint. The staff is amazing and friendly. Tons of security and cleaning staff! I will stay there again."

"This property is in an excellent location. The rooftop pool is perfect during the summer for watching the sunset. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself is safe and clean. Balconies are a nice bonus. One minor inconvenience: washcloths are not provided, so be sure to bring your own. Puerto Vallarta has been experiencing some safety concerns recently. There is a noticeable presence of gang-related activity, including prostitution (often in massage parlors) and drug dealing in certain areas. Many locals are frustrated by this. I recommend always traveling in pairs, staying aware of your surroundings, and avoiding any businesses that seem connected to these activities."

Hotel Tropicana - Near Olas Altas Street

"Paid for two superior rooms and instead got two standard rooms. The room was quite dirty, stained and our bathroom shower was plugged. Also, no mini fridge for your drinks or microwave for food in the room. Prices at the bar were in our opinion highly over priced and low quality food. Check in process took about 30 min. We left our do not disturb card on door but staff still came in regardless. Will not go to this place again. "

"When I booked the accommodation, it said I was booking a suite. When I arrived, it was just a standard room. We waited until about 5 o’clock to check in. The room was clean, the staff was great, beach view was lovely, the food was good. I just was not impressed with the room because it was not the room that I booked in Hotels.com. Not the room in the picture. For this reason, I do not think I would stay there again or use Hotels.com.I don’t think this is the fault of playa Las Arcos. I believe it is Hotels.com."

"Very disappointing. If sleeping in uncomfortable heat at night is a DEAL BREAKER for you, stay away from this property. Issue is: this is not a mere technical problem that needed repair, but rather a predetermined AC temperature range that gets chosen for you by the unit owners or the building manager and was never overwritten in spite of multiple complaints. I spent five nights here 31-May to June 5th, 2026. The apartment itself was attractive and well-located, although not to the standard of other Maxwell properties in PV. But my experience was significantly impacted by the air conditioning. During my stay the temperature in the unit never dropped below 24°C (75°F), despite multiple complaints and repeated assurances that the issue would be fixed. A fan was provided on the second day, but it was not an adequate substitute for properly functioning air conditioning. As someone who values a cool sleeping environment, especially during the heat of early June, I found it difficult to sleep comfortably throughout the stay. What was most frustrating was not the problem itself, but that it remained unresolved despite several promises that it would be addressed."
