Spotless and almost ryokan-like experience.
Staff is 5/5, wooden bathrooms 5/5, our room was spacious and the small local brewery next door is the icing on the cake. Typical japanese hospitality, highly recommended!

Staying in a ryokan was the perfect experience and something everyone should try while visiting japan. Ohanabo is a great ryokan, very convenient as it is about a 5-7 min walk from kyoto station. Absolutely loved staying here and would definitely come back again!

Right beside a train station and extremely convenient to head to areas while avoiding the everyday crowd. We had to remove our shoes as the whole hotel is paved with tatami mats which was really comfortable to walk in. Room is clean with basic amenities available such as toiletries, water etc. the private onsen saved my lower limbs from the walks and tours. Depending on the timing you can get drinks or late night ramen after the onsen experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the lobby itself, the light installation, even at the stairs was so pretty the staff were all very friendly and polite and very helpful as well. Property is gorgeous the room is clean and well maintained. The location is amazing just at the train station. Only downside I would say about this is I wish this hotel had a pool. Very grateful for the staff that they helped to prepare baby ingredients to prepare his food.

Authentic ryokan with service standards one can expect from a ryokan stay. Very centrally situated, within walking distance to shopping district and shrine. Train station is just outside the ryokan and connects to most places of interest in less than 30min.

Good table management system. Every table is given a "Table Occupancy Card" where guests can comfortably leave the dining table without worrying that it's may be taken by another guest whole collecting food or waiters clearing the table when guests or when guests are not at the table but haven't leave the restaurant yet. Upon leaving, guests will return the card to the reception.
Many hotels including those 5 stars hotel perch can adopt this concept

Right next to the Kyoto main station, very convenient and easy to get around through bus and train. Notable shops nearby for quick buys. Room a little small - as all Japan hotels however was still a pleasant stay.

Nice and cosy ryokan accessible by train from Kyoto station and walking. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood, accessible by bus to main shopping streets where Nishiki market and Daimaru are. Reasonably priced ryokan with meal arrangement optional so we need not pay high price for the stay like in some ryokans. However we still chose to have our dinners at the restaurant on-site as the food was nice and priced reasonably. The onsen was great, there were indoor hot pools with jacuzzi, saunas and...
