I loved my short time at Cyashitsu Ryokan. The staff were all so sweet and helpful. The rooms are set up in traditional style, so be aware the doorways and ceiling are low. It's a short walk from Senso-ji and Asakusa Station. Asakusa is an interesting area; full of covered markets and great food. The ryokan even has a big book or restaurant and entertainment recommendations. Breakfast was Japanese style and delicious. The private bath is great if you're shy like me. Above the privacy curtain, you can see Tokyo Skytree alight at night. I will definitely be staying at Cyashitsu the next time I'm in Tokyo.

The staff was wonderful. We were late to our scheduled breakfast (sumimasen!) and there wasn't any issue. The private outdoor onsen was a dream and that's probably the most restful night's sleep I had on this vacation.

I had an amazing 2 night stay. My first time experiencing a Japanese style Inn and the staff is very wonderful. English speaking friendly, gave me a great introduction about immersing into the Ryokan experience and food and onsen was the highlight of it all! 10/10 would love to come back there again on my next trip.

This ryokan is one of my best experiences ever in Japan, and I’ve travelled here close to 50 times in my lifetime. The staff was friendly to a level I’ve never seen anywhere before - no exaggeration. The room was small but the experience felt completely authentic. The futons were super comfortable, and the bath on top of the building was amazing at night as well as daytime. I couldn’t recommend this place any more warmly.

The ryokan is a lovely place to stay. Our hosts were so nice and even recomended places to visit based on our likes. They also have a private onsen you can book once you check in to relax in. Highly recommend if you are looking for a traditional Japanese experience.

Magnifique ryokan
Ryokan traditionnel au cœur de Tokyo. Accueil incroyable: personnel vraiment gentil et serviable qui prend le temps de nous faire un accueil personnalisé. Lieu incroyable avec explication à l’arrivée, chambre toute petite mais empreinte d’authenticité et très confortable (coucher traditionnel sur tatami), bain avec vue sur la skytree. Un peu loin des métros pour un séjour prolongé. Quartier à proximité est très vivant (restaurants, boutiques) à seulement quelques minutes de marche.

The hospitality was unbeatable! The staff truly treat you like family and are very welcoming. We arrived late and the staff was very accommodating, even providing us with a snack. They took her luggage up to her room and introduced us to ryokan operations. The rooms are very small and cozy. The sleeping mats for very comfortable. The private onsen (have to reserve a time to use) was very relaxing. My only regret was not staying here for more than one night. I highly recommend I look forward to returning again in the future.

Amazing experience. I thought I knew what hospitality was but the experience at Cyashitsu showed me something on another level. The breakfast was something else as well - very light but surprisingly tasty, it made me hungrier than before I started. You can tell that this was prepared with passion and heart, not by ingredients alone. It was unfortunate for us as we arrived during a typhoon and had to lug our suitcases with us - otherwise, it is still kind of walkable, if you take the correct exit (most exits do not have lifts with them, you have to carry your suitcases up). Thank you to Yuka and the rest of the family at Cyashitsu! Looking forward to our next time!

I had an amazing stay at Cyashitsu Ryokan Asakusa - I wish I could have stayed longer. The rooms are a perfect size and the hospitality of the hosts are unmatched. I loved how welcoming and friendly they were, it really started my trip to Tokyo off on a good foot. They made great recommendations for dinner that night and my only regret is that I could not stay longer. The traditional breakfast was amazing and I will definitely stay here longer the next time I am in Tokyo. 5/5

As long as you know what you’re getting before you go, it’s a beautiful ryokan with the most peaceful experience you could ask for. It’s cosy, but that’s the point. The bed was comfortable, it’s super quiet, staff are lovely with good English skills, and overall the best place I stayed at in all of Tokyo.

This is small (10 unit) ryokan in the Asakusa district of Japan. The atmosphere is warm, simple, and intimate.The staff is delightful. I’ve traveled for years and never written a review about a hotel before, but do so here because this hotel does what it set out to do exceptionally well. I love the place.

What an amazing Ryokan right in the heart of Tokyo! It's both less expensive and nicer than other ryokans in Asakusa. From the tea room to the incredible staff, to the gorgeous, modern rooms, definitely consider staying here instead of a normal hotel next time you're in the area. Their reservable open-air bath with the Skytree view is something else. The only negative is that it is a slightly longer walk to their location from train stations compared to other Ryokans in the area, but that means you get to see the Senso-ji temple on the way!

We loved the personal attention and connection with the staff we felt at this very special ryokan. Even though we arrived late at night and left by about 10 a.m. the next morning, we felt like we had become part of this lovely and warm family. From the hot tea and foot baths upon arrival to the breakfast in the morning, every detail was thoughtful and no detail was left to chance. In fact, we had so much baggage (plus the four of us staying in one room on the very comfy futons) that the staff came up with a creative solution for our luggage storage so that our room would be more comfortable. The bathrooms were also lovely, and who wouldn't be charmed by the tiny arched doors leading into each room??

We had a wonderful stay at Cyashitsu Ryokan Asakusa. The location was outstanding near lots of great restaurants in a quiet, more traditional part of Tokyo. The Shino-ji shrine is only three blocks away. The personnel at the ryokan were unfailingly friendly and helpful.

We have a wonderful time staying here. If you are looking for a unique Japanese experience or a quiet stay, this is the one. It’s a brand new property, located in a quiet Japanese neighborhood, but yet only 10 minutes walk from Asakusa station and the tourist attraction of Asakusa Shrine.Breakfast is wonderful, staffs speak very good English, good service. But keep this in mind it’s not a regular Western 5 star hotels. It’s an exceptional Japanese ryokan.

Romantic bath with Skytree view
We booked the top floor room with the open air bath. It was very romantic, cozy, and very small. The bathroom is very nice and sleek but does not include a private toilet. The toilet is shared with anyone outside using the booked public bath tub. Our open air bath is also partly sharing outside space with the bookable one, so you can hear people's conversation between the two baths. The view from the room is the Skytree, partially blocked by some wicker fencing if you're in the bath. The room itself still was able to fit two large luggages without putting the futon up. The pillows and futon are comfortable, tempur-pedic like. The service was the best part of this place. Everyone was so personable and accommodating. They wanted us to feel welcomed at all times. The whole lobby is the dining and kitchen area, so there is no official desk for check in. The whole place is very small, so the first floor may be filled with people's luggages. The breakfast was delicious, a course of soup, salad, rice, fishes and flavoring and then finished off with fruit, light but filling. We had a great conversation with Yuta! We wish him the best of luck the next time he travels to Los Angeles!
