By day it's just another narrow alleyway common in Tokyo, but at night the street turns into a mini nightlife area for the salarymen of Tokyo. With numerous tiny #bar lining up, the nickname comes from the fact in the past so many drunk salarymen doing their "bussiness" there because there's no toilet anywhere in this alleyway. Today, regulation has been set in the area so it is a lot cleaner than before. The alleyway is very narrow and can only fit at maximum 2 people at a time so be mindful of your surrounding when visiting especially when there's many drunk people walking by from the bars. The bars are also very tiny and can only fit less than 10 people at a time. If you are not claustrophobic give them a try, it's a special experience on its own :)

Clean small apartment - walkable to a bustling part of the city. Shinjuku is an exciting area and just outside of the east station exit is a bit like vegas-meets-NY. I knew the area was active but I did not realize this apartment was smack in the middle of the night life (host bars, love hotels, etc) part of town. If that sounds like fun to you, this is a great deal. If you're looking for a family-friendly place to stay, this might not be the right move. The space itself crams the two beds in with about a suitcase-width amount of space to walk. Mini fridge and tea kettle were handy. The combo washer-dryer is somewhat helpful, but it's tricky to figure out and takes forever for things to dry. Overall definitely a positive experience. I just would have chosen a different area had I understood.
