Extremely clean and friendly staff. Great job cleaning the room everyday with bath robes, bottled water, and clean towels and slippers. It was easy to find and right by the train that takes you all over tokyo. The area has a great restaurants and convenient stores and seiyu (essentially walmart) is right down the street and open 24/7 and has everything you will need. Stayed with my wife and 1 year and was big enough for us all to share a bed. Looking for a great stay absolutely consider smile sugamo.

I stayed at this hotel for around 27 nights. I cannot fault it. The location is great - One minute walk to Sugamo station. It is close to a supermarket and lots of dining options both Japanese and western. The hotel staff were amazing. So friendly and always greeted me with a smile. There is a coin laundry and vending machines inside. The size is normal Japanese hotel room size. It also has a little nook where you can store clothes/small suitcase upright. I will definitely stay here again.

Convenient location and liked that they assigned a room that met my request. Laundry facilities on the 8th floor though wasn’t too impressed with the washing machine. Service provided was simple and inventory of room supplies were limited - extra amenities had to be self collected at the counter and staff faced some difficulty in providing 4 additional clothes hangers as there were only 2 put aside in their inventory.

Okay place for the low price if you can tolerate humidity. Main problem is that the room never feels cool in summer and when you leave the room, all power shuts off, including the air conditioner. Either that or staff come in and turn off the AC unit (even worse!). I suspect the mini fridge power gets cut too but can't confirm. Also, the hotel and elevator and hallways are muggy/humid also! They won't turn on the AC!!! I ended up staying elsewhere for last few days of trip.

A 3-star hotel located in an excellent area. Goog hotel
A 3-star hotel located in an excellent area. Near the Sugamo train station. A supermarket 50 meters from the hotel. The rooms are functional, not large, but provide all the necessary needs. Courteous staff, the room is clean and well-equipped, including utensils for coffee or tea. You can get a toothbrush free of charge in the hotel lobby. , hair brush, body creams, hair elastics, razors free of charge. My stay here is pleasant and I recommend the hotel. The value for the room and the service provided is higher than the cost of the room per night.

The location of the hotel is great, the hotel is not new but has everything you need. I just missed the option to choose the temperature for air conditioning. Stuff is very friendly and helpful. Overall great stay!

The room was nice and clean, made up everyday and good facilities. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to the Yamamoto line for easy access the rest of Tokyo and the Shinkansen, and close to Sugamo shopping district to look for those bargains and a pair of red pants! I cannot recommend Hotel SMILE highly enough!! 10/10 A :)

Smile Hotel in Sugamo exceeded my expectations during my stay. The staff was friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with any queries. The room was clean and comfortable, providing a cozy atmosphere after a day of exploration. The hotel's convenient location near Sugamo Station made it easy to access various attractions and dining options. Overall, a pleasant experience that I would recommend to fellow travelers.

I really liked how close by it was to the station allowing us to travel out whenever we want and also a lot of the food options that were nearby. The staff was very friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything. Only downside was the pillow to the bed, it’s way too rock solid so it’s probably best to bring your own pillow. Overall, the hotel was enjoyable and a nice place to stay.

Very clean. Close to Sugamo station but area is quiet (though the room itself is quite noisy — fridge, air con etc are loud at night). Very old building with little security, but overall decent value for money.

Okay but something needs to be changed
Overall it was okay, but there’s something needs to be desired. First, the servants didn’t refill my tea bags. Second, my shampoo was diluted after room service. It really bothered me when I found this in the shower. At that time the front desk was unable to send me a replacement so I had to pick it up myself. Bad experience:(

Good value for money
We stayed for four nights and were very happy the entire time. The staff on the front desk were extremely helpful and even helped us change up some of our larger notes when we first landed. The room was nice but nothing special, but was expected for the price. Overall a really great place in a good location, close to a central train station that took us almost everywhere we needed to go on the same line. We'd definitely stay here again if we were in Tokyo.

The stay at Smile Hotel Sugamo was excellent. The location is very convenient, close to the train station and conbinis nearby. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The room was as expected and clean. Served as a nice home base for a 2 week trip, a place to sleep, shower and store your stuff and feel safe and homely. I would definitely stay here again
