"Water pressure was horribly aggressive. Somehow too much??? Never thought I’d say that. And the hot water in the sink was dangerously hot, even when not turned up all the way. The bed sheets were quite rough, but they did have the cool Japanese pillows! Black out curtains were more effective than most. Unfortunately, one morning when I was trying to forward my luggage, the front desk staff did not seem fully familiar with the process and I ended up missing my train due to her completing wrong ppw first (to airport instead of hotel) and I had to pay 5000 yen for a taxi to catch my Shinkansen"

"I stayed at 6 different hotels in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka over 30 days and they were all 3 stars rating hotels. The diference between them and the Toyoko in is this: Toyoko shows clearly on the way it hosts the clients that their target is profit at its highest. There are a minimum of amenities, Strict rules for the use of common area, inexpensive ingredients on the breakfast, staff rushing us to do the self checkin ( everything is planned to be self done by the way) I didn’t feel as welcome as I felt on the other 5 hotels I stayed. I love Japan and will be back, but won’t stay at Tokyoko."

"Location is in the heart of where all the action is. As soon as you step out the door, there are businesses and people everywhere. Stayed in a triple and there were areas to put luggage so you aren’t overly crowded. Bathroom was a good size."

"we stayed here for 6 nights and loved our stay! the hotel is a comfortable distance (about a 5-minute walk) away from Dotonbori. we liked this location because it’s near Dotonbori but not directly affected by the noise and hustle. the hotel is equally near both namba and shinsaibashi stations which makes traveling out of the area very accessible. Shinsaibashisuji street is only a 2-minute walk away, which made shopping very easy. there is lots of great food, especially all-day breakfast options, nearby. there’s also a family mart just downstairs, which was perfect for late-night snacks or quick runs. we really enjoyed the free flow drinks machine on the first level - the drinks were actually delicious! the amenities were amazing too - we appreciated the fact that they provide free umbrellas for use when it rained. our only gripe would be that the air-conditioning didn’t feel cold enough at times. the windows also could not be opened which made it feel stuffy. It would also be useful to have more standalone usb-c plugs points, especially near the bed. the bed in the double king room was a tad bit big for 2 people, which negatively affected the amount of walking space. nonetheless, we had a great experience. we highly recommend this hotel and would definitely come back and stay again!"
