"Very nice hotel will pools right out your back door. We had a private pool but it was not heated which for a vip room it should be. I know the high season is hot and the pool usually doesn’t need to be headed but at the tail end it does. Only used once. Other then that a very nice adult only hotel!!"

"Excellent hotel, probably the best on the island all round. We chose this hotel over others primarily because of location (close to food, beach and a port), and, among others of its class, this property looked the most modern with a clean bathroom. The photos honestly don’t do the hotel justice in terms of looks and comfort. There were two great swimming pools. We had a private pool too. We saw the hotel being cleaned thoroughly daily, from the pool to mopping the stone floors outdoors. Staff are amazing and so is the buffet breakfast every morning. "

"We've just returned home from an absolutely wonderful 10 night stay at this hotel. All of the friendly staff work very hard and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spacious and very clean and comfortable. There was a great variety of hot and cold food at breakfast, which we enjoyed every day. The hotel grounds and gardens are beautifully well maintained. We also loved the separate pool for adults only, which offered a peaceful retreat. The hotel's location is perfect for access to the nearby beach and the main Kalamaki 'strip', with a great choice of restaurants, bars and supermarkets. We will definitely be back to the Merelen Hotel! "

"We were given a room that smelled like sewage and had not been properly cleaned before our arrival. Make staff were so incredibly rude, shockingly patriarchal, self righteous and unhelpful we had to leave for a better hotel and environment. The only acceptable thing about this hotel is the hotel manager who is a professional lady who agreed to refund the money for two out of three nights we were supposed to spend at the hotel. Everything else is utterly below standard, dirty to the point of making you physically sick, and to be avoided at all costs. "

"Stayed here for 11 nights. Staff were friendly and very helpful. We stayed with a toddler and baby. There are 2 pools depth appropriate for toddlers. One with a water park and the other a pool. Entertainment for children (in polish when we were there), but that didn’t stop our little one joining in as you don’t need to speak polish to follow the routines. Meals were convenient as it’s all inclusive (our little ones don’t like restaurants as they have to wait for food). Food was enjoyable and the staff were constantly cleaning. Snacks are also served poolside. Resort is very clean. Small beach a few mins walk down the hill from the hotel. Great if you have little ones, as it’s not a big beach. So you don’t have to chase them all over the beach (if you know, you know). Supermarket across the road and also on the resort. Not a lot nearby if you want to get out and about. You will need to hire a car or use local transport. Car hire and tours are available across the road from the resort and also closely located to the hotel. Would recommend for families with children. Our room was a swim up, which was lovely and also located near reception, so quiet in the evening when the entertainment started. Something to ask the hotel when booking if you have little ones. Entertainment finishes around 11pm. We really enjoyed our time at the resort and our toddler was sad to leave on day of departure. "
