The staff were super friendly and helpful. They have a hand held translator to help communicate when necessary. The rooms were clean and they provided plenty of amenities. It was perfectly located for my needs, and pretty close to some touristy areas as well.

Ein sehr angenehmer und entspannter Aufenthalt. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die Annehmlichkeiten auf dem Zimmer. Hier hatten wir mit die größte und hochwertigste Auswahl unserer gesamten Japanreise, von verschiedenen Körperlotionen bis hin zu typischen Süßigkeiten aus Kyoto. Alles wirkte durchdacht und mit viel Liebe zum Detail zusammengestellt. Besonders gefallen hat uns das Design der Zimmer. Das im Boden eingelassene westliche Bett ist ein schönes Detail und verbindet japanische Ästhetik perfekt mit westlichem Komfort bzw. gewohnten Schlafgewohnheiten. Auch die öffentlichen Bereiche haben überzeugt. In der Bar standen Kaffee und Tee zur Verfügung, was wir nach langen Tagen in der Stadt sehr geschätzt haben. Der Service am Empfang war äußerst hilfsbereit und professionell, insbesondere beim Versand unseres Gepäcks zum nächsten Hotel. Zum ersten Mal seit Langem hatten wir wieder das Gefühl, uns vollständig auf die Expertise des Personals verlassen zu können und uns um nichts mehr sorgen zu müssen, ein großes Plus auf Reisen. Die Lage nahe dem Nijo-Castle ist ruhig und angenehm, ideal als Rückzugsort nach einem Tag in Kyoto. Insgesamt ein sehr stimmiges Hotel mit hohem Komfort, aufmerksamem Service und entspannter Atmosphäre. Würden wir jederzeit wieder buchen.

It seemed to me its Room assignment for early paid booking through Hotels.com guarantees the least desirable room of the same price range, my 10 nights spent is in a room with small window opens to car park, Which is unpleasant but the hotel refuses to offer a better situated room. As I will return in Feb. 2026, for 10 prepaid nights again, I am with fear but can only hope to see if they are willing to assign me a room with improved view after registering my preference with the staff. I will put this hotel under serious probation in the future.

Chic gestaltetes Zimmer im neuen Kleid nach japanischem Muster. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal und gute Lage, in der Nähe von Parks, Altstadt, und Fluss. Kyoto is fantastic. However for how much this hotel costs it doesn't meet the standard. Aesthetics are great, it's beautiful. However the eco clean is poor. Staffs knowledge of local area is disappointing. Also they do not advertise complimentary drinks at the bar. Which is not massively important but if you offer it tell the guests. No extra coffees other than what's provided. No laundry service. Normally this would be fine but for the cost of this hotel it's definitely style over substance
