My wife and I stayed three nights at Nazuna Kyoto Gosho for our last stop in Japan.
The overall experience was wonderful and the staff could not have been more polite and helpful with our every need.
Room-well appointed and had everything we needed for our stay. Great spa like bathroom, nice bed and a sitting area.
While it felt traditionally Japanese, it had all the modern conveniences we were used to.
Food-the food was wonderful and cooked sukiyaki style in front of you for every meal. We only had dinner there one night which was a great experience but glad we had a chance to explore other restaurants We did eat breakfast there every morning and while it is not a traditional western style breakfast it was fun to try something a little different—-grilled steak or fish, grilled vegetables, rice and miso.
Our only complaint with the stay would be the in room massages. After days of walking around Tokyo, Mt Fuji and Kyoto we wanted a little relaxation and decided to book an in room massage. They were not massages at all but lighting pressing on your back covered in a blanket and towels for 1 hours. My wife and I were both a little irritated as it felt like a waisted hour when time is precious. I would recommend finding a massage studio outside of the hotel to anyone who really wants this service.
Side note….we did stumble upon a little restaurant/wine bar called Chrome a block away. If you get a chance, go!!! Amazing food and wine!!
