"This place was incredible. It was essentially a one bedroom apartment with a small kitchen a full living room and dining room. Location is incredible for Mayfair and Hyde Park. The only criticism I had was that I had a room at the front of the property. It faced onto a popular cut through road so you could hear the traffic outside until around 1am. "The floors in the room weren’t particularly clean, water stains on the showe glass, unidentified dried green product on cheap plastic toilet seat. The self check-in kiosks are ridiculous but they do have two people running back and forth to help with it. Shower gel and shampoo are the only amenities. There isn’t even a water glass. There are no hangers or anywhere to put your clothes besides leaving them in your suitcase and three hooks. The mattress was so soft and spongey it was like sleeping in a hammock. The towels were thin and threadbare. I paid a lot of money for this room and it was NOT worth it. I would NEVER stay here again. If this is the future of ‘innovative’ supposedly hip hotels, it’s going to be a dystopian one."

"Beware that if you agree to signing up for their rewards program and agree to decline housekeeping services, the option for a 10 pound voucher is NOT good for their breakfast. We were told it was when we signed up and then was told at the breakfast venue it stated that it WASN’T good for breakfast on the voucher ( it did not). It was supposedly good at their restaurant (evidently the brunch area isn’t considered a restaurant), bar… no mention of where it wasn’t good at. The breakfast/brunch was ok, but not worth the 25pounds per person we paid. We actually had a more extensive brunch at the Derby Holiday Inn, the week before, which was included in the room rate. Also, they had an announcement one afternoon that an incident had occurred and to stay in our rooms for further announcements. Shortly, another announcement stated there was a fire and to leave the hotel. No fire doors were closed when we walked in the hall to the steps. We went down 7 flights, along with other guests and were escorted out the building. When we asked where the fire had been, several hours later, we were told by two separate employees that it had been announced it was a drill and not to worry about leaving the hotel. Clearly, that message was NOT what we heard and there was no concern shown that the fire doors weren’t activated when the alarm went off. I found that concerning. Other than those incidents, the room and facility was very nice and employees were helpful."

"This was the single-worst hotel experience I have ever had. Ever, in life, and I'm a 45-year-old man. I rarely ever bother to provide a review of anything, but I feel like it's my sworn duty to warn people about this place. The room was subpar even by cheap roadside motel standards. The entire space looked like it had been assembled from Ikea furniture. The bed mattress looked and felt like something that had been taken out of a dumpster. There was no AC in the hotel, which was brutal during record-high May temperatures in the UK. The window would only crack open due to safety measures, and even then, I had to decide between leaving it shut and suffering the heat, or opening it and dealing with the insane noise outside that carried on until 3 a.m. I had booked this room for 2 nights, but it was such a miserable experience that I just ate the cost of the second night and moved to another hotel. It was very misleading because the lobby of the hotel is extremely nice and modern. Do yourself a favor and never go anywhere near this dump."

"In a very good location close to Victoria station but quiet. Check in was fast. The rooms are new and big enough and everything worked. It was clean and so were all areas we passed. Loved the shower especially. Breakfast was good with a wide selection. Have stayed in other Riu hotels abroad and love the group. Stayed one night but will certainly stay there again."
