One of the worst check in experience I had encountered. Unhelpful & poor attitude front office staff. Also, very misleading check in information. It’s said 24hrs by self service kiosks which do not issue room so there are no difference from indicating honest check in timing. Very false and misleading information, thus is one of the example from a lists! Regards, K

Good Location, need to improve cleanliness
Credits : Good location, a few minutes walk to Chinatown MRT, Maxwell Food Court & restaurants around. Strong wifi. Room for improvement : cleanliness of the toilets. There is a lot of small white flies in the shower. Shower water is weak. The ventilation is bad in the toilet. Mattress and pillows are old and have become soft and flat. Fact : the hostel is on 3rd & 4th floor. There is no elevator. Have to walk up with luggage. Basic breakfast : coffee/cereal drink + bread w/ jam & butter.

I can hear all things happening in the room next door. The wall is so thin and packed. I stayed in the triple room and the bed I got is over the walkway outside. The air-con in the room cannot reach my bed. Once when I turn off the air-con before going out , the room is closed with no wind and my towel cannot get dry. There is no window in the room. However, I understand this coz it's a two stars hotel and the price is quite cheap so it's reasonable for all of these.

I am very disappointed with cleanliness and room condition and amenities service. I stayed Deluxe room with 2bunk beds for 4 people. Bunk Bed material is fragile. We are not confident on safty so 2 in 4 people need to sleep on floor. Blankets is not clean with yellow stain. Dust on headboard and edge of bed. Mold on grouting and silicone in bathroom. No bath mat provided in spite of water leaking at bathroom door. I was charged room with high rate but I am not comfortable, I feel that I got cheated.

On housekeeping, our cleaners will change the entire bedding at least once a week or on checkout, whichever is earlier. On bathrooms, there are routine cleanings scheduled for multiple times a day performed by outsourced cleaning professionals. It could be the peak season you came and therefore the usage rate is unusually higher. Nevertheless, we will notify the outsourced cleaning professionals and work harder at maintaining the cleanliness of our property at all times. Regarding the water leaking at bathroom issue, we have notified our plumber staff and will work harder at tightening our procedures to maintain our property. We hope to seek your understanding that during peak season, our turn around rate is very quick and as a result, our maintenance schedule may have been disrupted. We will look into the issue at hand and thank you for the feedback and reminder. We seek your kind understanding and look forward to have you back again.

Nice place with good price
The price is good for our 3-night staying. Staffs are so friendly and helpful. They have self check-in machines. Very modern. Tell them to clean room up if necessary. There is no lift to move up to third floor. Not easy to take big heavy luggage with you to the third floor.

Very good location in Chinatown
The hotel was pretty easy to find as it was situated in a very central location in Chinatown. However, do be aware that in order to get to the reception area, you will need to climb through 3 flights of stairs. And if you are staying on the 4th floor, you will also need to do another round of stair climbing. As our family consisted of 3 members, we stayed in a triple room, and which the third "loft" bed can be reached by climbing a precarious two meters steel ladder in the room. I would like to warn those who move a lot in their sleep not to sleep in this "loft" bed as the height of the mattress is about the same level as the barrier, and you may run the risk of falling to the floor below. The ensuite bathroom is moldy in some corners and the toilet seat is practically right beside the showerhead. Overall, the room is quite very minimal with just a doubles bed, a table and a chair. Wifi is fast. Breakfast is just bread, butter, jam, and instant coffee. They also have a rooftop common area (4th floor) where you can get hot/cold drinking water and a good view of Chinatown. If you think that you will be in Singapore for just a night or two and will not be staying in the hotel much, this might be the hotel for you.

Utterly disappointed to the max. Check In with machine, receptionists was chit-chating away, not really helping. The toilet and shower cubicles also around sink, had mould. The rusty droplets coming down from the walls in the capsule that i was appointed to. The WHOLE FREAKING NIGHT WAS THE SOUND OF DOOR SLAMMING till around 4AM. It was quiet for a while and SLAMMING STARTS AGAIN from 5plus in the morning. Bring ear pluck. Breakfast was served at the reception area in the morning. Really very crowded with so many people Breakfast was not what you think it is. Only slices of pullman bread, jam and margarine. OMG. The queue for the bread to be toasted can last more than 10mins---small toaster. Really Small. Honestly, forget about the breakfast. You can get it nearby with good coffee and well toasted kaya bread with sous vide eggs. If you want water from the dispenser, they have it at the terrace at 4th floor. I did not dare to use because after what I experience at this hostel. I am not really sure if they did any maintenance or clean or sanitize the water dispenser. Horrible experience and the stay for one night is not cheap. The place was not well taken care of.

Good location but must climb up 3 stories with luggage. Good check-in system but take a long time for someone. Big room for family on the highest floor 😭😅 5th floor. There is shower and toilet in room but dirty and smelly. I don't like picture or painting which is hang on the wall in room. It is spooky every time when I woke up during a night. Once enough for here.

The location of the place is great, very close to big shopping mall China town point and very close to mrt. A lot of cafes and restaurants at the door step. Was very disappointed that nothing was said that the property is on the 4th floor and you need to carry your heavy bags all way up.... Showers and toilets are closed for cleaning at the time when you really need to use them in the morning. Some of the staff does not speak English. Towels and bedding were with marks. To overall it is OK for its price

This hostel is near MRT. The room is small. The serve breakfast late considering they only give coffee and slice of bread. There is only one dispenser of water and it is on the terraces. Some staff are snub. Also, there are limited bathrooms and toilets and the cleaner cleans it during rush hour in the morning making people wait to use it.

Clean and tiday hotel/hostel with amazing location
Location is amazing, few steps to Chinatown Food Street, Maxwell Food Center and about 200m away from the Chinatown MRT. The hotel itself is acceptable for short stay. Staffs are friendly, room is clean enough and breakfast, though very simple and repeatively, should be OK for filling up your stomach in urgent case. We booked a triple loft room. Though it's for 3 persons (our case was 2 adults and 1 child), the loft-bed is located pretty high and not easy for a kid to climb up/down. It should be fine for 3 adults. But if you plan to book the room for your family with kids, please mind this point. One more thing, the Hotel located in 3rd floor. Considering if you have heavy baggages. Walking up and down is a matter.

The hotel staff are lovely and friendly There were bugs that got into our room somehow and bit me at night whilst I slept The bathroom was grotty and the shower was not sealed so the water seeped out into the living space and on to my bag and clothes Singapore is an expensive place to stay This room was very expensive for what it was. Good location but until the room is renovated o wouldn’t stay again.

The staff was service-minded. She offered me to change the room when the locker of my bed didn't work. However, the room should be more clean and stairs are difficult to climb up. The breakfast is bread, jam, butter, and cereal and instant coffee. That's good enough.

Incredible location to immerse yourself in local Singapore’s Chinese culture and food! 🇸🇬🍜 😋 Maxwell hawker centre is literally next door 2min walk. Chinapoint shopping centre, People’s park centre, Chinatown complex and Hong Lim within 5-10min walk. Ann Siang Rd right behind you for $$$ western bars/restaurants. Convenient bus stop just down stairs and MRT about 5 min walk. From Changi airport MRT will take 1 hour approx S$1.8. Super convenient and affordable! Kind receptionist helped us check in and let us know breakfast and checkout times process. Stayed in deluxe triple loft room with private bathroom. Room was on smaller side but was tidy, towels provided and reasonable cleanliness. Beds were uncomfortable; sank into mattress, little support. Loft bed will likely freak out most people😅 room’s air conditioning worked perfectly👌. Naturally as hostel everything’s self service. Beware you will need to climb stairs to level 3 and another level for rooftop terrace/loft rooms. Personally didn’t mind plus loved colonial architecture. Note Friday and Saturday night will be noisy because Ann Siang Rd bars/restaurants. Highly recommend if you want a taste of local Singapore, sick of typical hotels and you’re a massive culture food junkie😎

Place is grand for the price and the community around. Only that there are 3 flights of narrow stairs even to get to the front desk, no elevator. No problem for light baggage travelers. Beautiful buddhist trmple across and chinatown shops and restaurants. Wonderful ambience better than a hotel nezt to the highway any day

Great reasonably priced place / great location with roof top space - only stayed 1 night but wish we had stayed the whole time here. The shared bathroom had put us off but it is clean and the rooms are immaculate and dry!

Unacceptable living environment
This hostel is probably up there with one of the worst I have stayed in for the price per night I was paying. There is a self check in which is normally not a problem but my room number did not come up on the screen. Even the couple that checked in after me had the same problem. We tried ringing the number given to resolve this issue. The phone number given was only answered about 40minutes later. They gave us our room numbers. When entering my room I was shocked to find out that my bed in my 5 bed dorm was actually a death hazard and the ladder to the bed was incredibly steep. Bed was comfortable once I made it in there. Another complaint of mine would be the breakfast, there was only one toaster for everyone to use and only six seats for the whole hostel. This meant most mornings I was standing eating my toast and every single time I went to breakfast I had to wait at least 10minutes for the toaster to be available. Staff were awful and never said hello or anything as you walked in and out of the building, they were too busy talking to eachother or doing things on their phones. Most of the time they were not there either. Showers and toilets were acceptable and the location was actually fantastic. I was meant to be there 6 nights but checked out after 5.

The room wasn't well cleaned when we arrived after check in time. Staff's were reachable. Excellent location which is close to MRT and food centers.

Overall great base
We would definitely recommend to other likeminded travellers. The only negative was someone smoking in the pods, very selfish, overall tho makes a great base to walk and explore.

Great Chinatown location
We booked a private double room, it was clean, spacious and comfortable. The location of the hostel is great, on the doorstep of Chinatown hawker markets and less than 5min walk to Chinatown station which takes you easily to all the great tourist spots. Wish we had known about the rooftop as we only found out about this on the last day when we were checking out!

Good location but that's it.
Staff were rude and unhelpful. Bathroom was disgusting and the beds were uncomfortable. The only positive thing I can think of is the location however I note the hostel itself was on the third floor with no lift!
