The staff on reception were helpful, the terrace restaurant and bar was lovely, the rooms were plain and a bit dated but clean and spacious.
On arriving, the tedious online check in with uploading of ID for all guests and submitting of payment information was a waste of time. Still had to queue for 15 minutes and show ID and then they hadn’t taken payment ??? Charged for use of any card for payment but don’t want cash???
First room had a view of a building site and massive crater, air conditioning was making a banging noise every 3 minutes on repeat. Couldn’t be fixed seemed like they knew about the issues with aircon and my call for assistance wasn’t unexpected, but were hoping we just wouldn’t notice 5 bangs every 3 minutes for the next 24 hours.
We were only there one night to see a concert in the city, but spent the next 90 minutes sat in reception waiting for another room, I’d rather have been in a bar somewhere eating lunch and drinking a cocktail.
Second room was fine, same as original just without aircon percussion.
Weird hairdryer issue, it cuts off every 90 seconds and you have to wait 5 mins then run back to it when it switched back on for another 90 seconds. It was like a game show trying to get ready.
On the plus side, the shower was lovely.
Overall for $300 I was a bit disappointed, glad I wasn’t there during the week when the building site starts up at 7.30.
For the money I wish I’d stayed somewhere else really, but the city was full.
