"The breakfast was as expected for a well thought out buffet . Everything was pristine and protective clear covers for all the foods. The food selection was adequate with many international selections . Thought fresh fruit selection was subpar as cantaloupe, honeydew melons and pineapple were the only choices. "

"The Sheraton is in an excellent location, only three blocks to Carnegie Hall, easy walking to theaters and Times Square, as well as Central Park. However, As mentioned in their blurb, check in is crazy busy, slow and understaffed. In fact staff are not that friendly, except for the awesome cleaning staff. And to mention now, the elevators are confusing to use, because the staff did not explain how to use them. We observed many guest having to help other guests to find their floor…thank goodness for the help of others. Now if you happen to bring back left overs from their restaurants…good luck in finding the “Goodwill” donated microwave that is supposed to be located on only a select few floors where even staff are not up to date on which floor that might be. Once found, it’s merely at the elevator area of the chosen floor, and good luck if you are on an upper floor, as you have to descend, with the steaming hot food, back to the lobby where you have to re enter your floor from the master control panel, inconvenient to say the least, and totally lowers the status of a higher end hotel experience. Also inconvenient, insulting, rude and embarrassing is if you have already checked out and are waiting for transportation, heaven forbid you need to use the toilet facilities, you’ll need your room key for that! I was fortunate to have a very kind and helpful baggage storage attendant to walk me down and open the door for me. Others, weren’t so lucky. Yet, the beds were super comfy!"

"I would absolutely stay here again, except for the elevators. Very slow and often full. I took the stairs more than I took the elevator. However, very clean, the staff were super friendly, and the location is fantastic."

"Stayed at the New Yorker Hotel for Mother’s Day weekend with my 4-year-old son and 70-year-old mother, and it turned into one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I woke up to find a substantial smoking fee already charged to my credit card because their “sensor” allegedly detected smoking in our room. The problem? Nobody in our family smokes. There was no investigation, no evidence, no warning, and apparently no way to dispute it before they took the money. Management was completely unhelpful and basically told me there was “nothing they could do” because they trust their newly installed detector system more than their paying guests. Meanwhile, the hotel itself feels outdated, poorly maintained, and full of things that barely work. Being accused of something we didn’t do — while traveling with a child and elderly parent — was beyond stressful and honestly felt like a scam. If you stay here, be prepared for surprise charges and zero customer service when something goes wrong. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel to anyone visiting NYC."
