"Very convenient for central Scarborough, South Bay and the Spa. Parking is a little tricky although there is a multi-storey up the road for £12 a day. The hotel itself was grand although in need of a little TLC - renovations were ongoing while we were there. The room was similar - comfortable and spacious but with a few things in need of repair."

"This hotel is great and we couldn’t fault our stay until check out time..... we had already paid for the hotel prior to our stay yet we were asked to pay again for the room! Apparently the hotel has recently changed hands and there is some issue with the accounts transferring over so the hotel isn’t currently receiving the payments people are paying ( going to the old company). "Very nice courtyard room, main building was very nice. However, service was disappointing. Arrive slightly early (2.30pm) for check-in in at 3pm, not allowed, room not available -OK fair enough. So sat & waited until 3pm. Tried to check in.....rooms still not available, would be 20mins-30mins, so oeft to return later. Checked in around 5pm, walked across courtyard to the room, electronic key card not working!! Another walk to main building, then back again... B'fast open at 7.30am, except doir...

"Enjoyed the spa, particularly the huge jacuzzi! Bar area was nice for a drink before going out. The only down side was that the room was very hot. There’s no way to control the heating. There’s a ceiling fan which is quite effective, but it was like an oven and windows could only open a crack to let in air. But it’s nicely situated in the cliff with great views across the sea from the front of the hotel."

"I probably did not do enough research as to how Discovery hotels work The Virtual customer service once I got through was polite and helpful but it took 40 minutes to get through. I was asking for a blanket as duvet was very thin. The heating was nt very efficient and in December more detail should be given Housekeeping - if you could find any - very nice and helpful Would book again in summer"

Before we went we were not made aware that this hotel is primarily booked through HF holidays who offer walking and biking holidays so we weren’t expecting to have to eat at communal tables no individual tables you’re expected to sit at big tables full of strangers."
