Hotel Forza Osaka Namba Dotonbori

6/10 Okay

"Look, I'm not gonna lie. When it comes to location, this place is all Aces! Right in the middle of Dotonbori street is a pretty great place to be, if you don't mind stepping out into the chaos of that street. Lots of restaurants, shops, and arcades nearby. That being said, there are some things to consider before you book here. 1: The room is much smaller than you expect. Certainly smaller than the photos represent. 2: There were unidentifiable stains on our carpet. We ended up putting extra towels over them, because God knows what they came from. 3: There was a sewer gas smell that kept appearing in our bathroom, despite us having the fan on. 4: The laundry situation... Look, if the hotel is anywhere near capacity, good luck being able to do your laundry on site. They only have 3 very small washing machines for this huge hotel. They also don't clean the machines very often, from what I could tell. I'm not going to beat a dead horse here. I've certainly stayed in much worse. It's not a bad hotel. It's just not a great one. If location is the most important thing to you, then feel free to book this hotel for your stay."

"We had a lovely stay!! The room is lovely and definitely quite roomy for Japanese hotels. Loved the bathroom with separate bath and shower. The location is ideal too - super close to the famous (and amazing) shopping areas of Osaka, yet just that little away so you can get some fantastic, peaceful nights sleeps like we did. My only gripe is there’s only 3 washers and 3 dryers in the laundry room. That sounds like it makes sense, but the drying takes an hour or potentially a little longer and the washing only takes 30 mins. Expect to go down multiple times up and down with your washing and potentially witness (or get into) a pretty heated convo when someone doesn’t go down to fetch their laundry. Thankfully it’s fairly cheap laundry though so that’s good. It’s not a major problem - but good to be aware of. An extra dryer or 2 would be perfect though! All in all a really great stay. I would absolutely stay here again."

The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Osaka Midosuji

10/10 Excellent

"Best value for money. It takes a short walk to the subway station (Midosuji Line). If you are feeling adventurous, just walk straight from the hotel all the way the way to Dotonbori (Approximately 2km walk). Room’s are spacious and most importantly, you can place your luggages at the mini hallway inside your room."

"We just stayed for 1 night. We’re getting the Panstar cruise the following day. We went to Universal walk, took pictures & grabbed something to eat. We had a wonderful & restful night. The breakfast buffet the following day was plentiful, wide variety to choose from. Thank you Universal port hotel."

"the service was excellent in breakfast and restaurant, the room was always clean, ask for extra towels instead delivered to my door politely. the breakfast selection was good. At the steakhouse the service and food was good. the hotel location was perfect close to restaurants, Malls and train station."
