I stayed here for 1 night when I first arrived in Brisbane. The 3 other people in my 4-person room were also using it as a base while they looked for permanent accommodation. I usually avoid hostels and shared rooms, but the hotel prices were astronomical due to the State of Origin game. This was a fraction of the cost and honestly one of my best experiences in a hostel.
The room was spacious, clean and modern. Bring a lock for the little lockers if you want to store valuables. The bed was comfortable and came with a pillow/pillow case, bottom sheets, top sheet, and one fleece blanket, which I found adequate, although I did wonder if they washed the blanket in between uses. There was an outlet and little light next to the bed, too. The ensuite was modern and functional, although they did not supply towels so I had to skip the shower. There was also a handicap accessible bathroom off the hallway. The WiFi worked well.
As for the rest of the place, it too is modern, and quiet - not a party place. Staff were friendly. The free breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen was standard hostel spread: toast, cereal, instant coffee and tea. There was plenty of space to eat and watch the news on the big screen. They have a vending machine if you need a snack, or there is a small grocery just down the street. There are also a handful of restaurants in walkable distance. It’s not the most central location, but if you’re looking for quality accommodation at a budget price, it’s worth it.
