The unit was dirty, we had to ask for a change of towels after our second night. The sheets sufficed for 3 nights and there was no dining area. This ultimately suited us as we were out for the whole three nights.

My family and I (3 adults) stayed here for 16 days/nights for the 2023 - 2024 festive period. The Manager (Craig) and the housekeeping staff were very helpful and friendly to us during our stay. I/We will definitely book and stay at the motel in the next visit to Cairns, Australia. Thank you Craig & Cairns City Motel!

The motel is a little outdated but was clean and comfortable for three singles. The beds were well spaced apart. It had the necessary equipment like: microwave, toaster, kettle, crockery and utensils. All were very clean and neatly stacked in a cupboard. Happy to stay again. Staff were warm and friendly.

Shower was similar to an outdoor leaking tap, no pressure at all, almost non functional at times. The shower cubicle itself in terrible state, broken tap covers, floor just left to decay. Air conditioner loud and full of dust. Very little amount of car parking, during week days you may find yourself having to park blocks away from motel. The bed was the only non-negative aspect of the room.

The room i was allocated appeared to be in utter disrepair, The sink was crusty and rusting out of the wall. There was a Large Hole in the wall! Missing patches of floorboard, Power outlet looked very concerning with paint flaking around exterior. Also the room/Carpet smelled strongly of urine. Was planning o having a coworker join me at this establishment in the next few days; However have cancelled their reservation and booked elsewhere.

Good for a night or two
Simple no-frills motel, slightly tired looking but functional and conveniently located within walking distance from promenade, town centre and marina. A/C worked, neighbors were quiet, bed reasonably comfortable. Considering the location, the price was very competitive, even though of course you get what you pay for in terms of comfort/amenities. My only complaint: slight smell of stale smoke in the room - obviously those guys don't have true non-smoking rooms.(there was an ashtray outside but guests probably do smoke inside occasionally). Overall a good option for a short term stay as long as you only come to sleep.

This is a Budget Motel, don't expect anything flash. If you're looking for a room to rest your head at night and be able to have a shower without the hassle of staying at a hostel - then this is your motel. I had no issues - and would stay again.

It was a very nice private room with fridge and shower. But the other people around the building and staying there were so loud that i had only a few hours sleep both nights i stayed there. Would probably not go back for that reason. They seemed to be staying there long term. Otherwise i'd go back anytime

Dingy and dodgy
This is the dingiest motel I have ever stayed in. Description is grossly over exaggerated. On-site parking is limited to 7 cars only. The rest have to park in the street. I stayed for 4 nights and the room was not serviced at all. There was no place to hang clothes. I fortunately brought some coat hangers and hung my business shirts on the towel rail. Shower is old and water alternatively very hot or cold. Aircon looked like it hadn’t been cleaned so I didn’t risk turning it on. I had a choice if lumpy double bed or squeaky single. Office was not open at all the entire time I stayed.
