Cheap flights to Montenegro

Boasting a breathtaking coastline and rugged, mountainous interior, Montenegro is one of the wildest and most beautiful countries in Europe.

When to book flights to Montenegro

As Montenegro is home to a fantastic coastline and a number of beautiful lakes, rivers and fjords, it makes a great destination for a summer getaway. Book your flights to Montenegro in July or August for guaranteed beach weather.

Alternatively, if you want to avoid the crowds that flock to the coast in the summer months, search for Montenegro flights in June or September. Although temperatures should still be warm, crowds will be much thinner, ensuring you can secure your place on the sand.

MainAirports in Montenegro

The two main airports in Montenegro are Tivat and Podgorica.

Podgorica is the quieter of the two. It's served by a number of low cost airlines and national carriers and operates services to destinations across Europe. From the airport, you can continue your journey to the Montenegrin capital by bus, taxi or hire car.

Tivat Airport is the main aviation hub serving the Montenegrin coastal town of Tivat and the surrounding area. Although flights operate from the airport throughout the year, there's a big increase in services during the summer months when visitors flock to this beautiful part of the country.

Buses are also available in many parts of Montenegro however you'll probably find that hiring a car is the easiest way to get out and explore.

Must-see attractions in Montenegro

One of the most popular attractions in Montenegro is the Bay of Kotor. A sweeping fjord, it runs from the Mediterranean right up to the beautiful city of Kotor itself.

Once you've explored this rugged part of the coast, head 25 minutes south to the old town of Budvar. Dating back 2,500 years, it's a great place to learn about the history of the country.
