This property say that they are “SG Clean” but they are not. This place was so disgusting that we only spent a few hours there until we found another hotel. The mattresses, bedsheets, and everything were disgusting. The bedsheets were super old, with stains, and hairs! The mattress and pillows were dirty and spelled like other people’s sweat. The towels were unwashed and also smelled like sweat. There were also cockroaches and hairs, a lot of hairs even in the floor. They did not even bother to clean the room prior our arrival. Safe yourself and book somewhere else. I’m not a picky person, but this hotel was extremely dirty and hygienic, especially due to Covid.

Basic amenities, bed was not comfortable as we could feel the spring through the mattress, no bedside table and power socket was damage and not replaced, hence down with only 1 power outlet.

Staffs are great!!!! That’s their differentiation! If you looked at the value for the price paid, I think they did a great job coaching their staffs to be soOooo friendly and polite to guests. Loving the parking area too! Learn to appreciate little things people do instead of magnifying the flaws, the world would’ve been a much wonderful place. ✌ I’m learning to practice that more 😊

Uh..., not again.
It's totally for local people. The towel smelled bad . No room clean, no hairdrier, no Internet LAN for each room(a wifi router is set at the front) Plus, the part of the hotel was under construction and it was very noisy from the morning to evening.

Lovely people, breakfast included turned out to be toast and margarine, tea and coffee. No fruit or cereal. Air conditioning very average for such a hot place, even asked for a pedestal fan but made no difference. Bathrooms need updating.

The Lai Ming Hotel is a budget property in Gaylang, Singapore. It delivers what it promises to its guests and does so with a smile. You get what you pay for in this life. The bottomless breakfast of toast, coffee and tea is a plus and there is a supermarket nearby and multiple cheap food options in the immediate vicinity. Free wifi.

Poor One-Star Hotel - Uncomfortable Stay
1. It is a one-star hotel not three-star as advertised by some travel agents. 2. No shower curtain. 3. No ceiling fan; it takes a while to cool with the air conditioner. 4. No Elevator; need to carry your luggage through the steep stairs. 5. Towels, Bed Sheets and blankets worn out. 6. Cockroaches, Ants and bugs in the room. 7. Hotel towards Geylang Road but on Aljunied Road / area but near to its MRT station; the environment is not good at all. 8. Very old building and poor upkeep.

Hotel not up to minimum standard.
The room was stink, the bed was stained, the bathroom bath tub was rusted, the carpet was dirty, and smell of cigarette all over the hotel. The positive side is the area close to all eatery, Chinatown and the staffs are OK. Other than that I would not even stay if its for free. No more. Thanks!

Not suitable for families
Bugs in toilet, broken bed frame with protruding nails...not exactly what you need for family stay. No lifts so if your room is on upper floor (which hey say all family rooms are located) and you have kids and luggages, tough luck! Airconditioning is not powerful enough, wifi speed is 10x slower than my 4G mobile phone. Only good thing I can say for this hotel, is free parking and its location, otherwise don't try this hotel unless you're a tough backpacker.

I decided to see main areas of Singapore and they cost more money. Also I paid for the 7 people in my family. Visits included - Zoo, Sentosa, Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Flyer, Little India, and Chinatown. It was hot, so started at 8:30am and finished at lunch or just after due to the heat. We could eat in the dining area and prepare our own meals. Staff were helpful. I needed two taxis everywhere we went and these are quite cheap and takes you up to your drop off point without looking for a train station (which was going to be the preferred option). The Staff ordered the taxi through Comfort taxi which along with City taxi are government controlled and very good. These taxis are plentiful and I bypassed the other taxis in the Q (although SMRT seemed OK).

Room was dirty and dusty. Towels were ripped apart. There was a roach in the room. Door handle was broken, a hook was used to secure the door. On top of it Wi-fi connection was terrible. It's a shame. I would of give 0 star if I could. Do not waste your money to stay in this hotel!

Its a budget hotel. A cheap place to sleep in, shower, and park your luggage. Its at the top of the list when you search for hotels in SG and then filter by price low to high. What do you expect? 5-star breakfast buffets, gyms and a luxury spa day? Its a case of "you get what you pay for". Its clean enough for its purpose and located in the middle of good places to eat. If you stay here, you have no business pretending to be a connoisseur or purveyor of fine taste and elegance.

This hotel is situated at busy district and I was glad to find so many restaurants open after midnight.The room was okay but the washroom was smelly.The amenities are poor and the breakfast is okay.

The floor is so dirty. . They told me they have body soap on the dispenser but its empty. The towel smells bad. They do not have lift so its hard to carry the luggage by stairs. Everything is so old and dirty.I thought Singapore is clean but the sorroundings of this hotel is so dirty.Overall I am so dissappointed with my stay.

Overall it was a good experience and the hotel was located very near to Aljunied MRT and a special thanks to Hotel Receptionist to cater my early check-in request. For those who looking for luxury not recommended. Those who just want to stay at a cheaper cost please book this hotel. Hotel and Room condition was average but yet nothing much to complain.

Best Value for the Money located 1 long block form Aljunied MRT station, and if you use garden passage behind buildings, you can reach Mountbatten in 10 minutes by walk as well. Many restaurants, but next door is expensive, walk a bit and you will find more options. Room was ok, for Singapore price standard good, large window facing parking lot was nice, I have been to hotels with no window in Singapore for the same price range. The bathroom had not curtain, although there was sufficient space for one, this could be an improvement to be made. Do not leave any food outside or you would attract ants. the closet was convenient. Breakfast was coffee-tea and squared bred with butter and jam. breakfast served on the main building, just walk pass reception. Personnel were very polite and allow early check-in free of charge, Thank you again, this saves our lives as we were exhausted after 25 hours of planes. I will be coming back to this hotel (already book it) so you can judge, paying a fortune or getting bang for your buck here!. Bring a towel with you if you are planning for a long stay, the one they give is not good. Bring a pillow also if you are planning for a long stay, some of the pillows were squared and unconfortable. Overall very happy, this hotel allow us to move easily in Singapore and reach airport quickly as well.

Huge disappointment with Expedia
I booked this hotel but when I checked in, as soon as I reached the room I realized that we my huge mistake. Room was terribly dirty, full of smell and smoke, there was bugs on bed and full of ants inside bath room. I asked for change an other room but they gave me the even worse one. I had to book other hotel through Agoda. I am very disappointed as I have to pay for two nights but I couldn't stay, the worst thing was that I had to pay again very expensively for other hotel for 2 nights from the other website. I am more disappointed that I contacted Expedia but no one answer my complaints.

This is the worst hotel that I have ever seen or stayed in my entire life. I think It shouldn't even be listed in Expedia, as it is way below minimum standard. I read all the bad reviews before I booked but I assume that since it is on Expedia, then it might not be as bad as the reviews said as I am pretty sure Expedia must have inspected the rooms and the hotel must have meet Expedia's minimum standards. I checked into the hotels with low expectation but was still shocked with how dirty & moldy the rooms were, especially the washroom with decaying windows covered in moulds. I stayed on 2 separate occasions and both times the rooms were dirty and washrooms were covered in moulds. When I checked out the 1st time (to come back after 4 days) I requested for a better room when I come back for the 2nd stay but was ignored. I requested for room change but was told the hotel is fully booked and no refund if I cancelled for the rest of my stay. It was a nightmare staying at this hotel. We try to leave the hotel first thing in the morning and didn't come back until very late at night. It spoiled our entire vacation with this bad hotel experience.
