"The place was clean and has a washer/dryer. Beautiful bathroom with a hot spring water flowing in the tub. Huge apartment for the family. They are quit remote from any restaurants, we arrived late to the hotel and had to go out to find dinner, most of the restaurants there were closing by 8p. So we walked around tired and hungry and not finding any place to eat dinner, But found Lawson and grab some instant noodles to bring back to the apartment to eat, Had I known about the scarcity of dinning options, I would have just packed food to make there. There was a nice kitchen with all the amenities to make a meal. I would go back and bring food next time."

"The hôtel is wonderful! Every detail has been carefully considered and crafted using high-quality materials. The lounge, with snacks and drinks, adds to the hotel experience. Unfortunately, the dining room left us with mixed feelings regarding the dining experience. We made requests that were not honored. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, the staff's attitude changed, and our dining room experience became unpleasant. It's a real shame because, although the hotel is extraordinary, I would hesitate to book again."

"This place has a lot of character and was a great experience. We didn’t book the Irori dinner, which I regretted very much. It’s a hostel, not a hotel, so as expected it was a bit spartan. However, the main sitting area was lovely and interesting and the staff were top notch - warm and accommodating. If you are looking for character and tradition over modern comforts, you will enjoy your stay very much. It’s also just a short walk to Gora station where you can hop on the cable car and ropeway as well as catch the train to Hakone-Yumoto. A word of caution that the automated calendar reminder may not map you to the right place. Ensure you are navigating to a location near Gora so you don’t end up lost and wandering in the pouring rain, kept warm only by the blazing glares of your rage-filled family."
