Super friendly staff
We had a three-week stay, and the staff became like family to us. The bell boys were more like concierges, and the receptionists were quick to offer assistance. Even the housekeeping crew were willing to spend a little time to chat.

Nice Hotel
We arrived about 8.00pm and went to check in. The reception told us that they have upgraded our rooms and we have to check into their sister's hotel - Maison D'Hotel which is 300m away from theirs. It was a bit of uneasy for us when we get to know that no rooms in Annam Hotel since one of their floors is under upgrading. It was really tiring for all of us as we just came back from our tour. After discussing with the reception finally we went to Maison D'Hotel. The hotel rooms is fine, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is ok......

When we arrived we got a bad room that it was not what we saw in the pictures. That room had no windows and a terrible smell. The staff willing to help change us to a better room with windows the next day, but it also had a bad smell just in the bathroom. In conclusion, the rooms are not as they appear in the pictures.

Great location, nice staffs but....disappointing treatment the room air con is not working well, given only a fan as solution as there is no other room available (must be response too good ) requested for refund on the room but only given 30% refund by the manager.... so forget it!

Never again - misleading as to room quality
I paid extra for a deluxe room but what I got was anything but deluxe. The hotel first allocated me a room with no window. I had to remind them that deluxe rooms state there is a window. Note that I was only able to do this because I speak a bit of Vietnamese. Anyone else would have had more trouble. They then put me in a room that smelt like sewage and told me it would air out (507). After complaining they put me in another small and dirty room (607). It looked like no one has dusted in years. The bathroom was also falling apart. But at least it didn't smell. The rooms looked nothing like the pictures on the websites. The room I got was also too small to be a deluxe. In my view this is blatantly a false/misleading representation! I subsequently saw a room across the hall that looked renovated and resembled the website (605). I spoke to reception about it and they said it was the deluxe room. I asked what my room was, they said deluxe also. I feel like this is a lie as my room was substantially smaller, dirtier, and looked nothing like the second room. They could not provide a good reason why my smaller, older, dirtier room was comparable to the nice, newer, larger room (or why I paid the same price as the newer looking room - only to get less). I think they are only using renovated room images for advertising. I note that the hotel is also under renovation and is therefore noisy during the day. This has not been mentioned anywhere. Location is good

Looks grand at the lobby but not so great.
Hotel tried to put me into their old room with a window which was depressing and old fashioned. Try harder ya. They took 2 days to put a kettle into my room. Service and food quality during breakfast is far from its glam image. Poor wifi reception on 2nd floor. Feedback to them many times and they still dont act on it.

This hotel is near tourist spots. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. However, what must be improved is the breakfast. The drinks were not replenished. The food is also so so and could be improved.

Sleeping room in the heart of the Old Quarter
Our room didn't have a window but that was fine. Like a little box for sleeping. The staff let us come back and use the lobby after we checked out to get organized. Really nice of them. The rooms are good and clean and the hotel staff speak English well and are very nice.

The reception was very nice, it had a very pleasant lobby and the reception staff were friendly. They also arranged for airport transfer to and fro the airport, at our request. However, when we reached the rooms, we discovered that the facilities were run down - the walls were peeling and the card scanner at the door wasn't sensitive. Some rooms were operated by cards while others had the keys attached to it. The room did not look like what we saw on the photos. For 1 out of the 3 rooms, the toilet did not have hot water, and the water pressure of the shower head was very small. The reception got someone to fix it on the 2nd day, but the same problem occurred again on the third night. Requested for a new room, but reception said it was fully booked and we were asked to pay extra for a deluxe room, which we declined.

Best location in Hanoi
Located in the heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter, the Annam Legend has an impressive, inviting entrance. After checking in we strolled through the Quarter and absolutely loved it. Every time we went out we found someplace new to discover. If you're an early riser there is a market street just across from the hotel selling vegetables, meats, and fish so fresh they're still swimming in buckets. Hoan Kiem Lake is a 5 minute walk away. The hotel was kind enough to store our luggage while we went to Halong Bay for a few days. Breakfast is served on the top floor (8th I believe) which offers nice views of the area. The room was clean. Not lots of room but very adequate. The same can be said of the bathroom. The price is exceptional value. I do hope to return to Hanoi in the future and will plan to return to the Annam Legend.

Arrived at the Annam Legend at around 11pm. Unfortunately there was an electrical fault with our room and it was deemed unsafe to stay in. We were told they had arranged a new hotel for us for our first night. Which wasn't the best since we had a long day of travelling. We were escorted by a member of staff who took us in a taxi to the hotel- which was good considering we had no idea where to go. We stayed in the Maison D'Hanoi which I wasn't impressed with. We had a room with no windows and the room was VERY noisy. There was a bar next door playing ridiculous music until the early morning hours. This wasn't Annam's fault. The next morning we were again escorted back to the Annam where we were greeted by a welcome drink and told to sit and relax while they checked us in. To our surprise, we were upgraded to an executive suite which they even got then cleaners in early so we were in our room by 10:30am. The room was massive and even though we were on the 3rd floor directly above the Main Street there's was very little street noise. I was very excited to try the jacuzzi bath however it wasn't working. Shame. I would definitely return to this hotel as the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was brilliant and the breakfast wasn't plentiful. Highly recommend.

This is a decent hotel for the price. it was clean, had good A/C, and the location was excellent for the Old Quarter. our biggest complaint was the smell of old cigarettes on our room. it made our clothes smell. we thought we booked a non-smoking hotel, so that was a bit disappointing. breakfast was good.

Clean and tidy hotel in the Old Quarter
This hotel was a welcome relief. We booked a basic room and were happy to find it clean, tidy and very comfortable. Staff were great, friendly and happy to help. Good location in the bustle of the Old Quarter yet our room was quiet and provided a refuge.

best location and reasonable price
great location to reach any famous places in Hanoi. the staff speaks English well and willing to help me all the time. not many restaurant around there but easy to access to Hoan Kiem lake. Breakfast was average but nice warm omelet and scramble eggs were cooked for individual by order.

We booked for superior rooms 2 night but the first night they send us to stay at another terrible hotel because they forgot to reserved room for us and it was fully booked when we arrived. The second night we came back to stay this hotel and we upgraded to deluxe room. The room was good but the key system was broken. We had to call them everytime to open the door when we came back to the room. And each time it took 5 minutes to try to open the door and last time they changed the battery for the door lock. The breakfast wasn't good. We had breakfast at 8 am and that time the butter was finished. The staff said no more butter so we had only plain toast, coffee and very oily fried egg. Coffee also nearly finished and staff didn't refill for customers. There still few people came after us

We booked and already paid for 2 rooms 2 night but when we arrived there it was no rooms for us because the hotel financial department FORGOT to send receipt to reserved rooms!! We had to wait to find the new hotel and they told us to walk to new hotel which is more than 1 km but we said no. They called taxi for us but we got the cheeky one so we had to pay extra for meter. The new hotel was terrible. The room was small about 15 sq.m . Toilet room was separate but no shower in there. Shower cubicle was next to the bed so you could see your friend half naked take a bath from your bed. The first room we got had the key stuck at the door so we changed to another room and it also got the problem. We couldn't lock from inside but unfortunately it was the last room of this hotel so we had to stay.

Not the worst but not the best
The hotel and rooms here are pretty decent. Clean, quiet and everything including wifi was in good working order. Showers are hot and a/c works. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. My only real complaint is that the breakfast buffet which is included is said to run from 6:30 to 9:30. On our fist morning we arrived at 9:00 and to a pretty bleak and picked through spread. Thinking It might help to get there earlier, the next day we arrived at 8 and the situation was worse. No coffee, no bread or pastries and the hard boiled egg we got was completely raw and runny. Although, oddly, there was an abundance of bacon. You would think that a hotel with 7 floors of accommodation and awareness of how many people are staying at there would be able to manage their food inventory to serve all their guests. If you stay here enjoy the rooms and showers, just head to breakfast at 6:30 so your not picking through the dregs of what might remain on the table.

The room was shabby and dated and smelt. It looked absolutely nothing like the photos. The air con didn't work. The location is really good. The reception area looks really good which makes it more disappointing when you get to a shabby and dated room. Staff were helpful upon arrival and gave me a useful map. Breakfast was the worst I've had so far.

Such a pleasure.
An exceptional hotel experience. Bell, reception and breakfast waitresses were all professional, helpful and engaging. Breakfast chefs were not competent with egg variations. Ease of booking car to airport and excellent car driver and price for a peak hour departure where driver took an alternative non-bust route. Without question this would be my hotel of choice in Hanoi after staying at 5 different hotels over the past 4 years.

Pleasant hotel in a great location in Old Quarter
Our experience at Annam Legend Hotel was very enjoyable. Check-in was easy and the hotel gave us a complimentary upgrade! Overall the room was very pleasant (exactly like the photos) and a free breakfast was offered in the nice hotel restaurant. The hotel is in the Old Quarter and amongst local restaurant and shops, walking distance to some of the major sights in Hanoi. Would highly recommend staying at Annam Legend Hotel.

Excellent service - fast responses and outcomes. Great to have environmentally considerate packaging for toiletries - paper rather than plastic. Wide variety of breakfast options. Tea needs attention - one teabag per pot is insipid. Housekeeping were responsive to our timetable, making up room when indicated by door sign. Junior room unfortunately feels rather lacking in natural light due to only having a false window. Overall, I would stay again, and in fact have booked to return after SaPa.

It was an average experience at best. I am pretty sure they gave my room to someone else and so they said they gave me a "free upgrade" and so my double bed turned into 2 single beds, which is the opposite of what we ordered. The front desk seemed annoyed whenever I were to ask them questions about local places to see and eat. The room was clean, and the bathroom was pretty nice but the shower leaked out onto the floor which caused a spill. Breakfast was really nice actually, but the front desk and the change of rooms left an overall bitter taste in my mouth.

Lovely hotel with spacious rooms
We moved hotels to this one as we weren't happy with our experience at another hotel. As I walked in to the lobby I was relieved, we had made the right choice. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were extremely helpful. The location of the hotel is ideal, close to the lake, night market and puppet theatre. Our room was spacious and clean and we had a massive bed. The only down side was the provision for breakfast, a new toaster would help with this. Would stay again.

Great value hotel
I initially booked a Superior Room but was upgraded on arrival to a Deluxe Room. The reception staff were helpful & fluent in English. They gave me a map with recommended restaurants & attractions. The housekeeping & valet were efficient & friendly. The room itself was good. The air-conditioning is really powerful but has to be turned each time when re-entering the keycard into the power slot. They had a flat screen TV with a good range of English channels (Discovery, National Geographic, Fox Sports Asia (1+2), BBC World News, HBO, Star Movies, Cinemax, Star World, Disney). All necessary bathroom amenities were provided. The only bad point of the bathroom was the toilet. Sometimes it didn't flush properly and after you flushed, there was a drip sound from the toilet. For breakfast, variety was good. They had eggs cooked-to-order, hot food (Western & Asian), bread, salads, fresh fruit, tea, coffee and fruit juice. The airport transfer was very comfortable and took about 50 mins.

My second stay in a week. Different room but equally impressed by the outstanding service and quality of the hotel. It's listed as 3.5 star but genuinely it is better than many 4 stats I have stayed at. Strong recommendation (I stayed at 4 hotels in hanoi in my trip and this one alone with Centre point hotel are hands down the best in this price range)

Short notice stay due to overbooking
We had a comfortable stay here although it was not our choice of hotels and we were moved here due to an overbooking at our chosen hotel. The room was comped and the reservationist was very hospitable. Unfortunately we were unaware that the front desk closed at midnight and we were unable to g et a wake up call and when we ventured out we found out that the security kept the door locked as he slept in the lobby. That being said he was extremely receptive to our late night walks. The morning breakfast was delivered promptly at 6:30am. Other than a few tweeks here and there (a slow clog in the shower) everything was quite comfortable for our short stay. Thanks for being so hospitable for a short notice stay.

Staff at this hotel went above and beyond!
I landed in Hanoi with a terrible, painful toothache and the staff at this hotel were incredibly kind and helpful -- one staff member even accompanied me to the hospital to make sure I got there OK and to help translate. The kindness they showed me went far above and beyond what you would expect and will not be easily forgotten. I would absolutely stay here again and I hope very much that the actions of this hotel's staff are recognised & rewarded by its management. I would recommend this hotel whole heartedly. My only regret is that I do not remember the name of the kind young man who brought me to the hospital, as I would very much like to thank him again. There are many nice hotels in Hanoi's old quarter but I'm not sure if the bigger ones would have taken care of me in the same way. Thank you thank you again!
