Great location, friendly staff particularly the Porter. Only thing bit disappointed by was the price of the water in the hotel fridge (which also was only just cold) was 6 times what it would cost in a shop - I expect a mark-up but of all the hotels we stayed in this was the biggest mark-up by a long way

A great hotel right in the heart of the Old Town, and right next to St Joseph’s Cathedral, and a craft beer bar (if that’s your thing). If you want the truly authentic Hanoi Old Quarter experience, this is the place for you. Hoan Kiem Lake is also just a short walk away. I’ve stayed there twice now and highly recommend it.

Loved it !
We stayed in 3 different hotels in Hanoi, all around the same price range (40-50$), this one way absolutely worth the additional 10$. Looks exactly like the pictures. Service is top notch and the hotel is clean. Shower head actually worked too! Only thing that could improve a little, breakfast. But then again, we had a load of exotic fruit, so cant really complain (;

comfortable room but with a inexcusable incident.
room is clean and pretty comfortable but some things to note - my stuffs were thrown out of my room after checking in and only after returning to room at night then i see my luggage being dumped at the walkway. this is very worrying. - aircon is horribly weak. -some black mould has grown in the toilet area.

Great stay
Room got upgraded to Family room. Room is spacious and clean, breakfast is really good. Location wise not so ideal as it is located in an alley but no big deal, as long as it is clean and quiet.

Located in old town and central location. Easy to walk to central lake and shops. We stayed here prior to a cruise and after. The rooms and decor are to a good standard but unfortunately the sound proofing is poor and we got frequent disturbed by other guests and staff in the corridor and other rooms. The hotel is located on a small side street which meant vehicles other than motorbikes/moped couldn’t go down the road. When we got vehicle transfers a member of staff did help with baggage to a main road and were very helpful.

Great location!!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Conifer Grand Hotel. It's set in a great location, close to so many local attractions, restaurants and shops! The room size was a little disappointing and the service could have been better but overall we were very happy with our stay.

It's a nice small hotel , located one of the by-lanes ( thank God for that )of old quarters. It's quite because of it's location, on the main road noise is 24/7. They has set a timer of 25 min for ac to shut down which was the worst part in my entire stay. They rectified on the 2nd day morning but it became the same after the house keeping. Finally on the last day they changed the settings after the housekeeping and remained like that. The staff is exceptionally polite ,warm and ever so smiling. Loved everyone from door man / housekeeping/ reception to restaurant people. The breakfast is very functional with an 8-9 item menu ( 2 items for my vegetarian friends ). But the location is the best with church square 40 steps away. Most of food tour shops just round the corner . For a $100-$120 budget Traveller this is a great choice. But do choose room with a window and on higher than 3rd floor. Till 3rd floor you can watch the neighbor and their rooms.

Nice Hotel for Hanoi Old Quarter
Hotel was very nice and as pictured unlike other hitels in Hanoi. I found it a bit hard to get to and from as it is not on a main street. The front desk communication could have been a little better. I asked for a 90 minute massage and they wrote up for 60 minutes. Massage was great but the soa had no music and was so bright.

Decent hotel for business or holiday
Well maintained place, English speaking staff, quiet location in a prime location which is away from the main road. The only down side was, water will spill out of the showering area which will left the bathroom wet after a showering. Overall a very pleasant experience for my 6 nights stay.

Hotel inside is wonderful. Outside, you’ll definitely know you’re in Vietnam as you see meat being chopped and vegetables being cleaned.

Clean hotel in a good location
The hotel is located in an alley in the Old Quarter which although you have to carry your bags from the main road, is much quieter as there is less traffic here. The location is great for seeing most sights in Hanoi. Room is comfy and clean with good a/c. The breakfast is okay, nothing fancy (some cereals, salads, pastries and mostly asian hot dishes) but hey if it’s included in the room price you can’t complain really. I will say that the spa is not value for money unfortunately so I would suggest going elsewhere. The gym is also very minimal, a treadmill, bike and a small rack of dumbbells - this didn’t bother me but if you are a gym junkie then it might be an issue. Overall a nice stay in a great location. Would recommend the hotel but not the spa!

I had originally looked at the Conifer Grand Hotel but decided on another hotel in the Old Quarter - that turned out to be a huge mistake and after arriving at the other property, we spent one night there and then had to get out ASAP. Thankfully, the Conifer Grand had 2 of their suites available and we stayed for a week. The property is pretty brand new, extremely clean, staff are all very lovely, courteous and welcoming - from the door staff, check-in staff and even housekeeping. We had 2 of the suites at the front of the hotel facing the front alley/street and it was lovely to be able to see people walking through the street and hear the rooster crowing in the morning (and afternoon). I managed to see the other room types also - the family room looked the same just slightly bigger and the standard rooms were quite a bit smaller with no view but still looked clean and with the same furnishings. It is a nice area just next to the cathedral, quieter and not as 'backpacker-y' as the rest of the Old Quarter. Would definitely stay again if we ever returned to Hanoi.

The hotel is clean as the photos shown. The staff is very helpful and good in English. The buffet breakfast is good, you can even have Pho (beef noodle soup) too. Also, the hotel is located at the old city area, all restaurants and shops are in walking distance. A pretty safe areas too. I recommend this hotel.

Nice new Hotel but not so accessible!!
Brand new hotel, very spacious room with nice room amenities... hotel front desk staffs helpful and speak good English. Negative point is taxi or private car cannot drive-in to hotel entrance, has to drag luggage through the narrow lane :(

Attractive, clean hotel with very helpful staff. Great air conditioning, hot water and water pressure. Not on a main street so nondirect traffic noise and exhaust fumes high is wonderful. Near the cathedral so you can hear the bells but it makes a pretty view from the room. The bell ringing is interesting.
