Our room had no window but that made it very nice and quiet for sleeping!! It’s a great location and cozy Also Pii at the front desk was so kind and helpful :)

The front desk staff we incredibly helpful and nice. After I mentioned my allergy and that I would just have some fruit for breakfast, one front desk girl went across the street to buy some yogurt so that I would have something to eating in the morning. The staff is the main thing that made this hotel better than the others.

Big room with comfy bed and pillows... only downside of being in the large room was the elevator goes to 6 and the room is on 8...front desk is attentive and goes out of their way to be helpful...I highly recommend this hotel

I felt a very warm welcome from both Tommy and Maz, throughout my stay they have been very helpful and mindful of my hapiness, the rooms and atmosphere are also very nice with a great location, many food and shops all around, I would come back!

Tommy is the best! He goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable. We arranged trips and completed a satisfying travel itinerary with his help. The beds are comfortable, and the room is spacious. His friendliness was much appreciated!

The night manager gave a house guest the master key to get into their room. The drunk house guest then tried to get into my room at 4am thinking it was their room. Unbelievably the night manager didn't ask what room they were staying in or accompany the gust to the room ! Absolutely astonishing. Hotel is in any case very grubby. Very run down. The walls are dirty and need to be painted. The bed was the worst I have slept in. Sagging in the middle and lumpy. Clearly the cheapest mattress they could find probably. Checked into another (cheaper) hotel for the next night which was 10 times better ! Probably the worst hotel experience in 30 years of travel.

A stay in Hanoi La Castela Hotel is like a home away from home. We loved how we were made to feel welcome by the manager Tommy and his whole team of service crew carries an excellent attitude and was well confident to attend to our needs and request. They were very warm hearted people and big on small details..we enjoyed our breakfast time as we received food cook to our requests...hot and tasty. They were also very helpful in giving us shopping tips and where to find good food. We are certainly glad to have pick this hotel for our 4 nights stay

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful when we checked in the hotel. The room is big enough for 3 adults too. When we found the bathtub was broken, the receptionist came for us immediately and prepared another room. They don't have hair conditioner as an amenity but other things they have such as toothbrush, hairdryer, shampoo, body wash, bathrobe and minibar.

Good Hotel in the Old Quarter
This hotel has a great location. Right smack in the thick of the Old Quarter. We stayed twice, with an overnight tour to Ha Long bay in the middle. The rooms are a decent size, and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast is great. You can order as much as you would like, and eggs to your liking. There are also some Vietnamese options. In terms of dining options, there are several good restaurants within walking distance (10 to 15 minutes). As for the hotel staff, they are really attentive to your needs. They are friendly and helpful, and speak good English.

Five stars doesn't do justice to the service!!!
How many times do you leave a hotel and feel like you're leaving behind your good friends? The La Castela left us feeling like that. From the moment we walked in the door, we were welcomed like family by Tommy, the hotel manager, and the rest of the staff. The rooms are well apportioned, spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds and wonderful spread of complementary snacks. The rest of the hotel is very well maintained. The breakfast is wonderful, and my entire family enjoyed our morning meals with the hospitality of the staff. The price was very reasonable and the location was excellent. But it is the staff that sets this hotel apart. They were extremely attentive to our every need, willing to go out of the way to make our stay feel as if we were at home. They took the time to explain the nearby sites, offers guidance, discussed prices, and were very helpful. The entire staff were able to address us by name throughout our stay, and that is just a testament to their dedication to service. Both my wife and mother-in-law speak Vietnamese fluently, but they also appreciated the help and guidance as we were not familiar with Hanoi. They were immediately responsive to any requests, and I cannot simply imagine anything that could have been improved about our stay. If we return to Hanoi, this is where we will always stay.

Great little hotel which is excellent value for money. Comfortable beds, good water pressure in showers, and very clean. We had 3 people staying in 3 separate rooms, which were upgraded to Jnr Suites at no charge due to another party cancellation. Tommy & his staff working hard to give you an excellent stay. Very courteous and helpful so would highly recommend. Will be back!

I stayed at this place with my friend for 3 nights and I have nothing but praises for all aspects of this hotel. The rooms were clean. Location was perfect with most of the tourist and foodie spots in close proximity. Food was great - their spring rolls are a must try! To top it all off, service is awesome. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. They are always willing to go above and beyond. I truly had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Hanoi.

La Castela is a cozy little place with very attentive staff. They have 24-7 frontdesk and travel info service which is super helpful. Rooms are not large but very tidy. Breakfast served by order is also to the perfection. The only small issue is the traffic in the neighborhood. If you are OK with the crowd of old quarter, La Castela should be a good choice.

Wow, I was blown away by the service! Tommy and the rest of the hotel staff exceeded our expectations! They were incredibly helpful and it was by far our best hotel experience in Vietnam. The room was really nice and it is centrally located. I highly recommend this hotel to any future guests.

Great little hotel. Rooms are gorgeous, spacious and clean. There is nothing the hotel staff will not do for you. The girls would even make a delicious ginger tea for us when we got back from our outings and bring it to our rooms! Very gracious and happy people. Even left us sweet messages on our beds and on out breakfast plates! I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone. Great location as wel.

A hidden Gem in the Heart of Old Hanoi
A hidden Gem in the Heart of Hanoi. My wife and I chose the Hotel’s Limo service ($19) for the 40 minute, no hassle drive in a private van. The Driver was waiting for us with a named placard right outside the arrival gate. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted outside, offered complementary drinks and checked in while seated in the waiting room. We arrived late because of the traffic and were unable to make it to the bank to exchange money, so the Hotel manager lent us 500,000 dong ($20) until the next morning. The room was spacious, air-conditioned, strong Wi-Fi and the bathroom included a deep soak tub. The Morning breakfast is cooked to order and we found the Pho beef noodle soup they offered better than most of the restaurants outside. Fresh Coffee was available all day, another plus for us. The staff here is beyond helpful and attentive to anything that we needed. Maps, directions and recommendation were always available. Tour arrangements were offered at less than what we would have paid outside. The Hotel staff made us feel like we were at home at all times. The Hotel itself is located right in the Heart of old Hanoi. Restaurants, shops and coffee houses are just steps away, along with 2 major markets with a less than 15 minute walk. If you’re only staying a few days or longer, I cant recommend this Hotel enough. As soon as you arrive, all worries are put aside and you can enjoy Hanoi for all it has to offer.

The hotel is based in the centre of the old quarter and the position could not be better. The side street it is on is bustling, but not too noisy, and even though our room overlooked the street we did not get disturbed. The hotel is small and very friendly. The staff treated you like family and you could not have felt more at home. They happily helped and made arrangements for you and took personal responsibility for making sure the arrangements were correct. It allowed us to have a completely stress free time whilst we stayed. The cost for the hotel was very reasonable and great value. Of course if you want a 5* hotel with a pool etc then you should go to such a place. But if you want a calm, friendly and lovely stay come here. Breakfast was plentiful and they were happy to adapt as necessary (some of our party had restricted diets). We will come back here when we next visit...so that says it all really.

Perfect stay!
We absolutely loved our stay in Hotel La Castella! The staff were the friendliest, most welcoming people we have met on our trip so far. Tommy Lee and Lee made sure we had everything we needed and we felt very well looked after. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Our room was beautiful. We were upgraded when we first arrived as we had got to the hotel early! We loved it so much that we came back to stay again after our trip to Halong bay. They even sent us off with some fruit and croissants for the journey. The location couldn’t be better, right next to all the top spots in Hanoi Old Quarter and just a few minutes to the ‘heart of the city’ Lake. We would highly recommend Hotel La Castella and will be letting our friends and family know how great it is! Thank you to all the staff!
