The family is wonderful here. They go out of their way to help you and won't try to scam you which is nice. The bed in the room I had was extremely comfortable. I was eaten alive by mosquitoes at night though because the windows had no screens even putting on repellent before bed didn't help. I highly recommend staying here because it's a lovely family and property.

Gamage Friendly is the best!
Amazing homestay with super friendly family. Good breakfast and delicious optional dinners. Clean room with comfortable bed. Decently quiet area away from the tourist traps that are near the temple of the tooth. Close to good food for eating out and always easy to catch a bus or tuk tuk. We originally booked for 3 nights but ended up staying for 6 because of the hospitality of the hosts. They helped us find the best attractions in Kandy and were always ready to share a laugh. Make sure you stay here if you are going to be in Kandy!

Our best homely stay in Sri Lanka
This was one of our best stays during our trip in Sri Lanka. The place was clean and the hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Mrs. Gamage made us lovely authentic Sri Lankan dinner that turned out to be one of the best meals we had during the trip. We will definitely stay there again if we travel to Kandy again.

Amazing stay in Kandy
We had a fabulous 3 night stay at Gamage Friendly Home - we just wish we could have stayed longer with this beautiful family. Their lovely home is an easy walk from Kandy train and bus station and has everything you need to make your stay very comfortable and relaxing. We had a huge bedroom with its own en-suite and a supersize comfy bed. The property is just great but the best thing about staying here is the wonderful people who share their home with you. Incredibly warm and welcoming they made our first stay with a Sri Lankan family one we will always remember. Their hospitality is amazing and they are very happy to chat with you all about life in Sri Lanka and particularly what there is to do in and around Kandy. They also offer lovely breakfasts and dinner. We intended to have dinner once at this lovely home but the food was so delicious on the first night we ended up eating there every night!! When we next come back to Sri Lanka we’ll be booking in for a longer stay.

Excellent location, comfort and value for money
We were so happy with our accommodation! The host family was superb!! They were so kind and every time we asked for advice, they were keen to offer as much information as possible. Our room and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was in great condition with warm water. The guesthouse is a short 10 minute walk from the station. You will get an excellent value for your money. We highly recommend their hospitality. Thank you Gamage House ! :)

Wonderful B&B in central Kandy
Could not find a sweeter and more helpful host. The location is great too (close to Kandy railway station). The family is adding one floor to the house, which will accommodate the guest house and they are currently renting the second floor (actually the floor they used to live in). Not perfectly clean but the price is low and the family extremely kind that I strongly recommend it to anyone stopping in Kandy.

Came to Kandy for one night and Mr and Mrs Gamage couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome, comfortable and organized everything for us. They helped us buying tickets for local festival and organising train etc. They were truly amazing people and we were delighted to stay with them and their beautiful family.

Best homestay ever
This is problably the best home stay we have been in ever, The family i s very nice, openminded and helpfull. If you are asked about eating at night, you skould say yes. Very good meal. All in all very good value for money.
