A beautiful country inn with quaint rooms. The restaurant is excellent with food of a high standard. The staff are absolutely excellent and very helpful and efficient. A nice touch is the small hamper in the room with a few goodies, but it would have been nice maybe to have some fruit rather than crisps and sweets. It's great that the inn is adults only, but it is dog friendly and whilst most dogs I encountered there were well behaved, one guest insisted on having their dog on their lap when dining, with it's snout resting on the table. I know this is down to the owners of the dog and not the management of the pub, but perhaps a gentle word could have been had asking for the dog to be placed on the floor. No doubt dog owners will moan at me for this comment, but I really don't think it appropriate for a dog to be on a table in a restaurant. Additionally I am allergic to dogs so have to be careful around them. However, in summary we had a lovely time at the Horse and Groom and the issue with the dog wouldn't put us off coming again. Thank you to everyone.

Exploring the Cotswolds.
Good location for exploring the Cotswolds. Note the Inn is in a very small village and away from other shops and restaurants. Additionally, rooms are small. Staff were very welcoming and offered great suggestions on things to do in the area.

We loved our stay at the Horse and Groom! Every aspect was well appointed and the hospitality superb. The food was excellent and the service was the best. The location was ideal for our trip to the Cotswolds. We especially enjoyed meeting Warren, Tracy, Joe, Ethan, Keith and others. Hope to return!

I liked the peacefulness , the good food, the setting, the good service, the friendliness of the manager. The only negative was the lack of room in the twin-bedded room that I shared with my friend. There was not anywhere to put my clothes, so I left them in the suitcase.

Our room was above the pub/dining room, making it very convenient overall. Parking was very easy with a car park out back. We used this as our base for exploring the Cotswolds area. The room was small but comfortable.

Great place for a long weekend break.
My room was comfortable, clean and warm. The staff were lovely. Breakfast was great 👍 Diner in the evening was excellent on each day. I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 night stay. However I did get extremely frustrated with the ”tech”. The Wi-Fi would not work properly in the bedroom. It wasn’t possible to identify channels on the TV and there were no instructions. The clock radio was left on, and again there were no instructions so I couldn’t even turn it off let alone change to my preferred station. It was a great shame because in all other things it is a lovely place to stay. I just wish I could have watched TV or listened to the radio.

The staff was amazing. Our room was small but clean and adequate. Beds were really comfy. Bkfst was amazing. And the one dinner we had was very tasty and affordable. The main staff person was Max. He was server and knowledgeable resource for the Cotswolds.

Cotswolds break
Wonderful staff, Special thanks to Coralee who helped my elderly Father when he had a fall. She greeted him with a lovely smile and a chat every time we saw her, nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful country inn, great base for visiting all of the Cotswolds villages. Pre dinner drinks in the outside courtyard was a bonus in the sunshine. We ate in the restaurant on two nights, recommend the risotto and the venison. Fabulous food . We will return.

Nice hotel but very small rooms.
Service was very good and staff very friendly. The interior of both the rooms and restaurant was very nice. Good outside seating with Covid 19 situation. The big downside were the very small rooms and bathroom. It was adverstided as 19m2, but that is misleading as it was not much more than half that size. When looking carefully the room was full of spiderwebs in eg the lights and the ceiling, not matching with the expected standards.

Lovely - highly recommend
It’s a gorgeous hotel with al ovely restaurant and cosy bar. I stayed there with my boyfriend and my parents during Cheltenham races and we loved it! We enjoyed sitting by the fire having a drink and chat before bed. The owners are lovely too and have a cute dog!

Excellent 2 night stay - recommended
Room small but that is to be expected in a hostelry of this vintage. Bar and dining area was a little cold at breakfast (needed a thick jumper or jacket) so go prepared. Otherwise food and service was very good and the staff were excellent-all in all a good weekend. Nicely situated in the Cotswolds area. Would recommend!

A gem in the Cotswolds

This location is advertised as being in Moreton-in-Marsh, which it isn't. It requires a taxi from Moreton-in-Marsh (45 dollars CAD). One must really have a car when considering this location.

B&B with great food
The B&B delivered! It was a comfortable stay at the Horse and Groom for my hubby and I. We had great breakfasts there. We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was delicious! We were able to access public trails from the B&B for our morning walks before heading out to the other Cotswold villages.

Room was small, however well appointed, clean and cosy. Excellent shower. Food excellent, a couple of real ales on tap, log fire in the bar. A little out of the way from Stow and Bourton, but well worth finding. Better value for money

Good little pub
We stayed at the Horse and Groom for a wedding. Had a lovely lunch before we set off a good nights sleep and a really delicious breakfast before we went home. The staff were very accommodating and I would definitely recommend.

Our stay at the Horse and Groom
Ours was just a one night stop over on a journey North whilst wishing to avoid the Motorways but we discovered a little gem. Chosen for its close proximity to both Stow on the Wold and Moreton in Marsh, which we wished to visit and it turned out to be an ideal location. The hotel is set in a beautiful location and overnight the area was pleasingly quiet. All staff were welcoming, polite but outgoing and very helpful. On arrival we were allocated room No 6 in a delightful annex building called the cottage, that was just across the courtyard from the main hotel. It was very private, had all the usual amenities plus cookies with the T and coffee, plus free bottled water and rather uniquely a decanter of sherry if you wished to imbibe. That evening we ate in the restaurant where both the food and the service were excellent as was the complementary hot or cold breakfast served the following morning. Based on our experience we would have no reservations about recommending this hotel to anyone and would certainly stay there again should the opportunity arise.
