Very friendly and helpful staff in the counter and kitchen. When we said we need to leave hotel before breakfast time, they pro-actively arranged packed breakfast with various choices. The hotel is nice and beautiful

Nightmare stay

The hotel itself was good, rooms were clean but trying to get some sleep was an absolute nightmare. The air con and piping was noisy all night. I was exhausted from driving and more exhausted when I left

Well that’s that

Decided to arrive later than Check in time. Arrived after 2hours drive after 1700hrs. To receive an apology, both rooms one on floor one and one on floor two not ready. Had to rearrange booked evening meal and after long drive was looking forward to get into room, have a shower and go out for family meal. This was delayed as they had lack of staff. Decided to come back later, to be greeted with a strong unpleasant aroma in our room. Opened windows and turned on extractor fan in room to clear out the smell. Not a pleasant experience, so probably going to book elsewhere in future.

False advertising, tired room.

I booked this hotel specifically for the aircon during the heatwave. After physical work outside all day, I checked into my room to find the air con to be an antiquated unit that looked like it was ready to fall off the wall. It didnt work, when I complained to reception I got the answer "yes we advertise on our website that we have air con in our rooms, but a lot of them don't work". I had an uncomfortable night with the windows open listening to the drone of the condenser units of the rooms that had working AC. On top of that, bath taps were loose and leaking, and the room was generally tired, I can deal with these last two as I work away a lot in some cheap hotels. But the false advertising and attitude when I complained annoys me. A positive was the bar staff were friendly and the food was nice.

Best Western Brook Norwich Hotel check in experience I booked a family room. I came with a heavy luggage and two young children (2y and 4y). My room was on 2nd floor. I found it isn’t convenient that there is no lift because it is not easy to carry the luggage through stairs while looking after two children on stairs. There was a slight walk way from reception and the stairs. The lighting is a bit dark. My two children were scared of walking through it. I wish the lighting can be as bright as others areas. In the bathroom, the mixer tap has no hose and no free move shower head. The only one is a shower head that is fixed quite high up. It’s not a problem for grownups but is not suitable for young children who are not used to it. A hose with free move shower head would be more suitable. The bin in the room is too small. Rubbishes would be struggling to go in after a few water bottles. It’s pretty hot in the room during the night. There is an air conditioner but it doesn’t work. Phoned the receptionist but I was told I had to wait until next morning. The night was not easy with the heat. The only desk fan was small and was not capable of bringing enough cool air.

In serious need of maintenance and repair.

My problems started, first thing on the morning that I was due to arrive. I woke up to a text message fm my bank on my mobile (09.35) telling me that my bank account was overdrawn. The hotel, had taken my full payment, contrary to Hotels.com correspondance (on arrival) No chance to place my hotel funds into correct account! All started off okay, though noted that place was dated in decor and dimly lit. (As expected fm past reviews) I had requested a cool twin room, as I don't react well to heat & daughter & I asthmatic. Got this. We returned, late eve, after going out for a meal & I sat down on my bed. I started to fall sideways & investigation revealed that the bed-base was broken from the bottom half downwards!! A friendly receptionist apologised and returned with a male colleague. He inserted a thin camp-bed mattress folded in half) under the bed base to make it same height as pillow end. Both daughter and I, though, were uncomfortable in our beds, both nights & hardly slept. Nearly ruined daughter's graduation day. No offer of a different room. Five minutes after that, attempted to switch on TV. to find that the batteries in remote were flat. Other problems were mouldy smell fm bathroom basin plughole & noisy air conditioning. Although the room was a lovely size, the place lacked TLC all over. Breakfast was rather uninspiring and impersonal, for £9.95 & bought our own equivalent, elsewhere in a local cafe for half the price, the following morning. Won't be back.

2star not 3star

Would class this as a 2star hotel. The rooms had a strange smell. Very rundown and dusty. Table in the room was sticky and dirty. Bathroom very dated with a sink so high a child would have an issue to access. Certain leys on the remote wouldnt work. Asked at reception if they could change it, was told maintenance had gone for the day and this was 5pm.

The room was really dusty, wallpaper coming off the wall, really does look like it need some basic attention to keep it looking good. We booked the room purposely because the hotel stated rooms have air conditioning. The room didn’t and when asked we was told some work and some don’t which I think she be advertised properly. I would not recommend this hotel it’s dated, it needs a good thorough clean and needs updating.

Adequate stay but delicious breakfast.

Arrived at the hotel just after check in time. Gentleman on reception was polite and it was a nice simple check in. When we arrived in our room we noticed a couple of stains on the carpet, one on the outer bedding and a large spider next to the main door which I put out. The room overall wasn’t too bad, there was air conditioning and there were a couple of USB wall sockets with the normal plugs. There was an interconnecting door to the room next door which meant we could hear everything next door, unfortunately for us they had a screaming baby which kept us awake. Bathroom wasn’t too bad but a bit tired in places (cracked grouting) Out main gripe was the wifi which didn’t work in our room. I went down to reception to ask, made sure we had the right password and it connected there and then. When we came back to our room it just wouldn’t connect and would say the password was wrong. The bed was ok but a little on the firm side. We booked breakfast for the following morning after seeing previous good reviews and it was delicious. They had a very good selection of hot food, fruit, cereals and juices. I would say this was the highlight of our stay at the hotel and made us feel human again after the lousy night’s sleep.

Hotel is niet meer goed onderhouden, mag geschilderd worden, veel beschadigingen. Wij vonden de bedden niet zo goed, zijn aan vervanging toe. Wel een goed ontbijt. Geen lift.

Good position near to entertainment for kids and a family restaurant across the road. Still quite secluded and quiet even next to the motorway . Main areas of the hotel are lovely . Rooms are good but could with a little attention - decor etc

Pleanty of parking spaces on arrival, check in was quick and friendly. However in the room there were 2 half used toilet rolls and the kettle was dusty and had sticky stuff on it and it looked like it had not been cleaned for a while. Also the door lock didn't fully close and you had to make an extra effort to make sure it had shut properly. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean. Had no issues connecting with wifi. Check out was quick too. Had to throw a few bits in the bin outside the main entrance, was greeted by the stench of urine, not very pleasant, someone obvously couldn't wait to get to their room.
