Not sure why this hotel rates so well on TripAdvisor.
I stayed here two nights with my mum & wife and here are some of my experiences:
1. On our first night, we had no hot water. Staff try to fix this at 10pm without success. In the process, the staff leave water and dirt on the bathroom floor and shower screen.
2. On our first morning at 6am, we were woken by the lovely sound of a jackhammer destroying some pavement directly outside our room. When I politely asked the reception whether they could defer the work for an hour or two, they just said "No, they do it in the morning because it gets hot during the day." No apology. No empathy.
3. The poorest service I have ever encountered in my travels in Asia. The staff just show no interest in helping or wanting to make sure that you are happy. Every conversation I had with them made me feel like my family and I were a burden on them.
4. We nearly missed our bus back to Hanoi because the reception lady was adamant that we didn't need to book a taxi to the bus station until the morning of our departure. Unsurprisingly, the taxi got lost and arrived to the hotel late leaving no margin for bad traffic. We made it in the bus, but only just!
Good luck to those who decide to stay!
