We felt so comfortable and peaceful in the hotel with surrounded forest. It has so nice tarrace with forest or river view. Everything is goog enough.

Great facility, great staff- minus a few odd balls. Lovely stroll in their park too. A good place to blow some steam (w/o venturing too far from the city)

Always good to be back
My 2nd time here & it’s great to be back! Love this super well maintained property, clean & eco friendly. So tranquil & quiet. Sunny the manager gave me a very warm welcome back, adding a nice touch also by giving me a cute little birthday cake! He was my translator in the wine appreciation session & made a difference with his exceptional personalized service which many 5 stars hotels don’t even provide. All the staffs in this property are professional. Prompt service delivery & efficient. I can’t wait to come back again!

Zen in the heart of the city
Gorgeous zen property, tranquil & quite green resort. Extremely well maintained, clean & comfortable. Housekeepers keep the common areas so clean & tidy. I don’t see Any litter or dust anywhere! There’s really nothing to do in the resort except for nature/forest walks. I throughly enjoyed reading all afternoon in the cosy reading room. There’re also lead jungle walks, morning workouts & yoga sessions, cooking classes available. Free shuttle bus to nearest train stations every 10 mins morning to 10pm. Taxi easily available. Their extremely well trained professional English speaking Staffs will assist you with everything! Breakfast is the most value for money meal. Lunch & dinner, be prepared to pay fine dining prices. If you like waking up to chirping birds & sounds of crickets at dust, fresh crisp air, yoga in the middle Of the forest up on a hill, yet smacked in the middle of the city away from the hustle & bustle, look no further. Shout out to front desk staffs Sonny & Choi for their helpfulness & excellent service!

Nice and cozy
This was a first time at Douglas House. We tried it out because I heard it was super quiet compared to other hotels full of tourists. But I felt like the place was slightly understaffed considering how long it took to clean up the table for the next guest... or check-in/out... Oh yes, the lounge needs way more tables. Other than that, nice and cozy place to enjoy a peaceful weekend.

My wife and I liked the exclusivity. Room was spacious. "Free mini-bar" was a bit meaningless, with just 2 waters, 2 sodas, and 2 beers. We skipped one soda and both beers... The happy hour was potato chips, nachos, cheese sauce, and some cheese; with wine, beer, and ingredients for a Shirley Temple. We were disappointed that the pool and sauna were unavailable during our stay due to their renovation. The casino benefit was nice. You receive two 50k KRW vouchers that get converted to cash, if you place a bet of at least 50k KRW cash and slip the voucher underneath, and you win. My blackjack dealer busted twice, so with my two bets each of 50k KRW cash, I made 200k KRW net. Basically paid for my one-night stay. But of course, you need to be lucky...!

Misleading Write up, but very quiet
Hotels.com write up on this hotel is inaccurate and misleading. There is no pool (indoor or otherwise), no spa and no gym. Also view is mostly of the back of another hotel, and there is no view of the river. But if you want quiet, this is the place to stay.

High Praise for Douglas House
Every person we encountered was professional, gracious and considerate...from the personal driver that takes you onto the property, to the front desk staff, to the service employees. The hotel itself has been updated with superior quality interior design and high tech features that made for a very comfortable stay.

It's not really worth the price you pay, unless proximity to the casino and a walk around the seoul forest is your thing. The service is outstanding, most Seoul hotels don't help you with your baggage, these guys won't let you carry anything, they do everything for you.The bed has that silly double topper which I find hurts my back, if you enjoy beds that you really sink into, then you may like it, but if you experience any back troubles at all, it probably isn't the bed type for you. It's about as quiet as a Seoul hotel gets, I'm not certain it's soundproofed, but I didn't hear much from next door. My other complaint besides the bed is it is quite cold in the winter, and the floor and bathrooms are quite cold. Room service is available unlike most Seoul hotels, so that's nice. A lot of menu items are pretty pricey, but some are reasonable. If you like the described bed and you can get a good rate, I'd recommend it, otherwise you may want to look elsewhere.
