Modernisation needed

I stayed here on New Years Eve 2019 and thoroughly enjoyed my time in Stratford. On arrival at the hotel staff couldn’t find my booking; I showed them my confirmation having paid in full. They managed to give us a room, but not sure what would have happened if the hotel was fully booked? Our room was very dated, could do with some modernisation. But overall good value for money.

Well located and comfortable

After a small plumbing problem we were quickly moved to another room. The hotel is well located and can't faukt the service. The rooms are old and tired but were clean and comfortable. A little less furniture would have aided with fitting 2 suitcases in. We were able to leave our car there for an additional fee which was convenient however it turns out there were plenty of on street parks in the area and metres were cheap. Note no lift so we were gratefil for the assistance to carry our luggage up.

The bed was terrible like sleeping on a marshmallow, the breakfast was very limited choice,allocated one portion of jam per table, coffee was powder and only decaf .

Friendly and helpful staff, good location and a comfortable hotel. A bit tired but you get what you pay for. Big downside is having to pay for parking on the hotel grounds which I think is ridiculous.

Our stay was just about ok. Hotel is a little bit tired and in need of a little TLC ! Reception staff were not very helpful if they were there at all!! Breakfast was barely acceptable and coffee was awful !! Beds were comfortable and room was clean. Would not stay again.

Room was very nice but far too hot and we could not turn the radiator off. Tried to use the shower late afternoon and it did not work properly. Was fine again the next morning! Hotel should be able to provide free parking!

Short stay

Lovely hotel, but in need of updating in bedrooms. Old plumbing & noisy. Carpet in room 274 in not very safe and loose around bed. However reception and dining areas are very nice and clean. Service was very good.

Unique older property in easy walking distance to everything in Stratford-upon-Avon. No elevator and no air conditioning. Our room was in the front and we heard traffic noise all night. There are other rooms in the back of the hotel that may be quieter, but no AC means rooms are hot even in autumn.

Great location poor room

The room was basic. The bed was comfy. The room needed some TLC ceiling stained and paper peeling not a pretty sight also the sink was blocked very slow release. The gitel is excellent location only 3-5min walk to centre
