Avoid, unless you are an escimo. No hot water and no heating, no back up portable heaters, what more could you want from an over night stay?! Souless hotel, no period furniture just modern, cheap, grey repro chesterfields in the bar, no paintings, absolutely nothing. No ambience. Basically the Owner/Manager has no idea about the hospitality industry and shouldn't be charging more than 30 pounds a night in the Winter. Reception was a queue of people complaining. What a shame as the building and setting is great. Expedia should NOT be listing this hotel on the site, take note!
